RetroFit Insulation

My heat Bill has dropped drastically. The quality of the work done was excellent. Ran into one issue with something extra they did for me but the owner Joe quickly got it fixed for me. Very honest and responsive. Quick clean install. I would highly reccomend them. Use the energy credits if you can it saved me the cost of the entire install.

Very well. Much better than expected. A prior insulation contractor had come out and was not very helpful; left twice, did little. We then allowed MassSave to select the contractor and Retrofit took the job. They were on time, explained well, and were thorough. The service was excellent. I can tell that the work was done as expected (I have background in building trades). When there was a question re. scope, RetroFit went ahead and did more rather than risk doing too little, at no extra charge; and where a wall could not be insulated, there was a rebate. Cleanup was perfect. Because of a small area of brick facade, some of the insulation work needed to be done by holes in the interior wall; these were patched much better than I expected (though I was not expecting paint-grade). Also, throughout they were professional and patient, with good explanations. No hesitation in recommending them or using them; will seek them out going forward. I might add: much better experience than with a prior insulation contractor. Note that price of work quoted below is before the MassSave rebate.

The owner is a nice guy, but can be hard to get ahold of, especially after the job is done and something needs fixing. The crew knocked down dog/baby gates without fixing them, broke the lock into our attic without telling us (and we later found half the key in the driveway with some lunch trash of theirs) and we had to battle for over a week to get the owner to come back and fix the door to our attic so that it functioned as before. We had another professional fixing something in our attic and he told us how the insulation hadn't been blown in correctly (it should have been deeper and further over) and how we had basically been ripped off. I would NOT recommend these people to anyone. Just because the owner is nice and friendly up until he has a check in his hand does not mean you should trust them.

It was excellent.  They were very efficient and thorough.  They explained everything very well.  They gave me a $100 discount because I allowed them to reschedule for a different date.  I also got an energy credit.  I would definitely recommend them to others.
