Kitchen Direct and the President and Owner Scott Curti took $35,000 of our money and never completed the renovation of our kitchen. All our bottom kitchen doors and drawers were made incorrect. We were given plywood doors and drawers when we paid for real wooden doors and drawers. All the staining was missing throughout the kitchen. Front and bottom panels were never installed, and a top cabinet door was never made. Because of the wrong size cabinets we also cannot access our trash or recycling bins. The cabinets we chose were Showplace Cabinetry and even though our kitchen is under warranty, Showplace refuses to do the warranty work, as Showplace will only deal with Kitchen Direct and they refuse to help the customer even after Kitchen Direct refused to complete our kitchen. Throughout the entire kitchen renovation there has been a multitude of mistakes, errors and inaccurate measurements etc. Scott Curti sent us a letter, telling us that he was too frustrated and he quit. We fought this for months through the BBB and the RI Attorney General's office. In RI if you do not go through a very reputable company, the company and contractor will not be held liable to complete the work that you have paid them for. The laws have to be changed. We have called Showplace and sent emails to the President, only to be hung up on and emails that went unanswered. We have been fighting this for months and the attorney general office does not have jurisdiction or the authority to make Kitchen Direct or the owner Scott Curti to complete the kitchen. We have been living a nightmare, and we do not have the money to obtain an Attorney, which is our only recourse. After paying $35,000 our only option will be to paint the entire kitchen and hire someone to build a cabinet door and all the missing panels. If Scott Curti has a rebuttal with this complaint, PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!! Do not purchase any cabinetry from Kitchen Direct or that is made by Showplace, as they will not stand by any mistakes that are made. My husband is in his 80's and I am almost 80. We are seniors that have been taken advantage of.

I would not recommend this company. I paid over 30k for design/cabinetry for our kitchen and mud room and there were numerous mistakes made and no effort to date to refund or compensate us for all the extra time, labor and materials required to fix their significant errors. Cabinetry was measured and fabricated with incorrect sizing, doors were not properly constructed and the mouldings that we paid for were rendered useless by these errors. Despite the admission on the owner’s behalf that there were significant issues with their work(his son was our designer) we’ve received no compensation to date and we’ve reached out multiple times. I will continue to reach out to try and resolve our disagreement. There was a measurement error made with the microwave that required some additional work. They did send someone but it literally took weeks of me hounding the handyman and in the end I got a hand painted piece of trim to cover up their mistake in measurement. They signed off on all the appliances, so there is really no excuse despite the owner saying sometimes things go wrong. That’s very true but in this case there were so many issues and I certainly would not support anyone I know using this company going forward. I’ll detail below: 1. Mudroom cabinets were supposed to be 33”, came in at 36” and had to wait additional time for new cabinets to be made to adjust the layout 2. Mudroom cabinets siding was not finished correctly and had to order an additional panel to fix it 3 Cabinetry on lower cabinets measured 170” when we only had 167” worth of space, had to order a special cabinet to accommodate the error that wasn’t the size we wanted 4. Ordered crown mouldings and foors should have been held back 1” to accomodate moulding, this was an error in the fabrication. Had to buy entirely new moulding with no refund or compensation. 5. Designer ended the counter on an appliance with factoring in support for countertop. Had to pay time, labor and materials for handyman to construct himself. 6. Hood piece had shelf installed upside down 7. Mouldings sent for cabinets at bottom didn’t match the island moulding. 8. No design considerations for outlets, etc. in island 9. Island panels weren’t constructed properly so where they meet is double the size of detail it should be (should have accounted for two pieces meeting and cut design in half) 10. Utility cabinet was too tall to stand up, had to have back cut for installation 11. Microwave opening constructed with incorrect dimensions despite sign off on all appliances 12. No touch up kits provided despite repeated requests 13. Total lack of communication, follow up or commitment to fixing their acknowledged issues

Of course , any full kitchen remodel is going to be a major headache, unless you can live somewhere else during construction. We did a lot of the work ourselves making it a much longer and more difficult process. One year later I say it's the best idea we ever had! Peter Curti helped us design a dream kitchen and we are fully in love with it! (the project took approx 2 mos start to finish)

So, I guess my story is, remodeling is tough, even small ones, but having a company like Kitchen Direct and Peter Curti walking us through each step sure made it worth the effort. I would have to say I can’t ever remember receiving better customer service, and all within our budget! Our kitchen surpasses our wildest dreams!

Excellent! Sharon was great! She listen to what we wanted and gave us some great suggestions. The cabinets are absolutely beautiful and get a lot of compliments. She also recommended a contractor who did a great job ! We bought alder wood cabinets and a quartz countertop.

It went well - though I could have used some more ideas

In 2015 our dream home in southern Rhode Island completed new construction.  Kitchen Direct did the measurements, design, and installs for GORGEOUS solid wood cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms.  The cabinet wood itself is lustrous, warm, simply beautiful.  Kitchen Direct made the layout decisions so easy for us. They simply asked what types of units we would like (roll trays, base mixer cabinet, drawer cabs, double trash unit, spice racks, multi-storage units, pantries, etc.). Once they had that information and took into consideration the refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, and microwave, they presented us with an efficient layout for the kitchen that required little to no tweaking on our part ... it was that good and well thought out by them.  We decided to continue the beauty of the kitchen cabs by requesting the same cabinets for the bathroom vanities.   Beautiful.  We love the look and appreciate all the hand holding and well thought out suggestions by Kitchen Direct. 

Overall, Kitchen Direct was professional, communicative, great to work with.  Promptly returned calls and emails, throughout the process.  Highly recommend them!

They are still providing the service.  That's why I haven't done any review yet.  It's good.  They are really good at coming out when I call them.  No additional cost for the design.  They are very good at coming out when I call them and taking the design.  It took more than two months.  I think it was within a week that they came and did the design.  Up until the end of June I didn't contact them because I was very busy at school. 

The designer was very nice and very helpful.  This was a first step for me and she gave me some good advice.  I liked the design of the kitchen and they would be one place I would go back to when we decide to remodel.  I was told that other places do not charge for designing but I think you need to go with them.

I had never experienced a professional coming out to my home to give remodel ideas and suggestions.  The price of the products was high.  He did not explain during the visit to my home that cabinets will be delivered but a separate cost must be incurred for a professional to put them up.  At the home meeting, He did not explain that the counter tops were a separate fee.  He did not tell me at the home meeting that the tile removal was not part of the estimate...basically all i got from this was the cabinet costs, pick out a design and then they deliver them.  End of story unless we want to hire a plumber, electrician, installer , floor guy and floor material cost- that info was only explained properly when i had the visit to his showroom. I think the whole process was misleading to me.

I was very happy with the meeting and I will be getting the project started soon.

Very professional and well done plans provided under Angies List promotion as agreed during VERY busy time for this local company.  Would definitely recommend and use again for other projects.

There were a few mistakes with the cabinets and the size and placement of the cabinets but Kitchen Direct responded immediately to my concerns. They came to the site, listened to my ideas and made recommendations on how things could be resolved. They took full responsibility and provided a satisfactory fix. I have a beautiful kitchen that I am 100% happy with, although I am still currently waiting for them to fix one more issue.

Very , very well. Excellent!!. The crew that was hired was the best and great to work with through out the entire reno.
