Purchased system outright. Had a very difficult experience with company
president. President came to my house, and presented to me what Solar system
would apply better for my electrical application. As I did substantial amounts
of research, I had learned that there are several different wiring
configurations, different types of DC to AC inverters different racking mount
systems, Etc. As I did more and more research I decided to edit the
contract with company, and apply some changes to my install, agreeing to pay
any additional cost for anything extra. Had a very difficult time to have changes
made by company. Almost forcing me to drop out of the contract, and loosing the
money that I already paid into the contract.
Also please be aware if anyone is doing a ground mount solar Photovoltaic
install, do your research on ground mount systems. I requested a "Single
Pole Top Mount ". It looks really good on a residential application;
otherwise you will end up with a solar ground mount system looking like spider
with six legs on the ground in your yard.
The company advertises under services that it uses "in-house master
electrician". Well on my install the electrical work was sub-contracted
out to a different electrical company, which by the way, the electrical company
does their own solar Photovoltaic, and they are Nabcep Certified.
Please look them up. site.inoelectricalservic? . I have no complaints as far as
the electrical work goes. People please be aware that a solar Photovoltaic
system installs on the roof is less complex and much more straight forward then
a ground-mount systems. If you are doing a ground mount, there are asterisks to
worry about and much more cleanup work to do in the end during cleanup process.
On a contract you need to add everything you would like done. Otherwise you
could end up like me, spreading yards and yards of loom to re-level out
your property from being disturbed by heavy equipment.
During contract writing process, pay attention to warranty on system. Make sure
you apply on the warranty that if a part fails, that the warranty failed part
should be replace within a reasonable amount of time ( example 7 working
days is a fair amount to ask for). I would say 3 and 1/2
months to have a warranty part replaced is a little extreme.
Lastly as a home owner make sure that if any company is using your home project
for advertisement or newspaper interviews, make sure that it is written on the
contract what the company can say about your project, and what they can
advertise. After all the company just wants to benefit from their lucrative
earnings, and believe me, the company just might say what they want to say,
ever if it is not true at all.
I wish i could leave not stars at all, but i have to leave at least one.
