Stefano's Landscaping Design and Construction

The tenants emailed me to tell me that Stefano's was showing up at the property and basically driving around on their riding mower over a dead lawn. I received no phone call or notification from Stefano's about the fact that they have been for over a month "mowing" a dead lawn, or even that my lawn was dead in the first place and might need to be reseeded. To be fair, the tenants should have told me earlier about it, but it isn't their job. Stefano's is the company that I pay thousands of dollars to a year specifically to take care of this lawn!!!! For context, I have been using Stefano's landscaping since 2015, so 7 to 8 years now. Initially, when the company was smaller, they offered a customer friendly service that was attentive to individual customer needs. I live in the Montreal area and have relied on Stefano's landscaping to take care of the lawn for my property in Wakefield, MA, year after year. When I contacted them to ask why they had not advised me of the problem with the dead lawn, they blamed me for not watering the lawn, and that weekly mowings were a take it or leave it proposition whether or not the lawn is dead. They were completely insensitive to the fact I didn't know the lawn was dead, and that THEY DID KNOW and didn't advise me. Because they forced me to choose between weekly mowings or nothing, this left me no choice but to cancel the service. However, I thought it would be fair that they take responsibility for the many weeks they have now spent giving the lawn "services" consisting of driving to the property then driving around on a dead lawn without notifying me. Their response was to accuse me of being dissatisfied for wanting bi-weekly instead of weekly mowings (which was NOT the issue), accuse me of being inconsiderate for taking up other customers' time slots, and that they had after all "done things" on the property. Baffled by this response, I pointed out that this would result in a negative review online, after which they accused me of threatening to leave a negative review in retaliation for not receiving free "services" and that the owner of the company would contact their lawyer to sue me over this. IF IT IS NOT CLEAR FROM THE ABOVE, TO AVOID A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE, I WOULD RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

So THIS is what it is like to have a beautiful, comfortable, maintainable backyard! In an effort to get a swing-set built for our son, we realized that our rocky, hillside, on-ledge backyard needed professional help that went beyond a mere swing-set project. We invested in a plan to completely re-do our backyard space from steep, rough, jagged hill-side, to modern outdoor living space. With all the heavy equipment and know-how to do it right, Stefanos built us a double tiered paver patio, complete with retaining walls, seating areas, lighting, a proper firepit, and a flat area with plenty of clearance for our son’s future swingset. Our project also fixed several long-standing drainage issues at the property (extending gutter downspouts underground), and routing water away from our house. Stefanos knocked the entire job out at a rapid clip (approximately 2 weeks, start to finish). The job spanned many facets, from ledge-chip-out, running excavators in very tight quarters, trenching, installation of dozens of yards of loam, and gravel, and proper regrading. It was an awesome experience to watch folks who are masters at what they do work, and my 4-year old loved watching the heavy equipment operate! Stefanos was also very diligent about cleanup of both the staging area for materials, and the entire yard. The output of the project was even better than we hoped for. Simply outstanding. The outcome of this job exceeded our expectations. Stefano's landscaping transformed our backyard from a unusable space to an oasis for our family to enjoy. Working with Nick at Stefano's was a true privilege. I had 4 different landscapers come out to quote this job because it was such a large one. Nick came back with easily the most competitive quote, and seemed willing to negotiate if anyone came in lower. We were on Stefano's schedule within a week or two of getting quoted, and they started the job for us 3 weeks later. Nick did an awesome job of making sure the project was fully coordinated so that the team stayed busy - the stone arrived right as the prep work was finishing up. I think I am most impressed with the craftsmanship displayed by the installation crew. Everything was done right and no corners were cut - and you can see that clearly in the finished product. We couldn't be happier with our new patio and wouldn't hesitate to hire Stefano's for future hardscaping!

Everything went just perfect. Good communication. The crew showed up in time and did a beautiful job. It was beyond my expectations. They planted three arborvitaes, made a walkway with pavers, installed a granite step, and covered the rest of the area with landscape cloth and gravel. It looks so nice!!!

was a fairly big job that took a little over three weeks to complete. Guys were here everyday working hard in the summer heat. Very conscientious about the quality of work and focused on the details. Good communication on how the work was progressing through the project. Had an issue with the sprinklers after the work was done and they were paid, they came back the day after I called and fixed with immediately. Also checked in after the project to see how the grass was coming in. Great service overall, would definitely call again.

We needed a flower bed on a retaining wall re-done, a lawn being taken over by invasive weed which was needing replacement and a make shift fence replaced. Kenny came out and spoke to us, finding out about what we were hoping to get as an end result and helped us decide the best course of action. He explained what they could do and the limitations there would be. He was in contact the whole time the work was being done. The crew was always professional, showed up when they said they would kept the work area as clean as possible, which considering how far they had to go to move all the dirt and waste was very good. The crew foreman (Eduardo) is a great representative of the company, he kept us informed of any changes or obstacles and also explained all the necessary information when he needed a decision from us. Over all this company provided a positive customer experience. I highly recommend them

Our condo board hired Stefano's Landscaping about 2 years ago. We could not be more pleased with the quality of work and customer service we have received. We have saved a substantial amount of money and our property has never looked better! Stefano's also services our sprinkler systems. Brian, our representative/manager is so knowledgeable. He recommended products and solutions that have transformed our lawn. He also helped us to become pesticide and herbicide free as we have many dogs in our building. Brian is always available to help and advise. His attention to detail is always appreciated. He will immediately take care of any issues or requests. His crew always is hardworking and courteous. We were so impressed with them we signed a 3 year snow removal contract as well. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Kenny came out and walked around our property with us. He gave recommendations for how we could go about completing our project. He took our ideas and our budget into consideration and came up with a great design. The workers at Stephano's did a great job, they made sure everything was done perfectly. Their work is meticulous and they take pride in their projects. I always got a quick response whenever I had a question or concern. They even coordinated the timing with my fence company. I am very pleased with the finished product.
