My daughter and I had many many tree companies come for estimates. Sebastian was the last one. He showed up on time and sat with my daughter and I outside and explained everything. He hit the nail on the head on everything he was talking about. He knew his business. My daughter gave him a retainer, which was 1/2 of the job. He sent us his contract via email with everything he stated. Nothing added and nothing left out. We asked if he could come right after Halloween because we were having a family Halloween/grand daughter’s 11th Birthday and needed all the Yard furniture to stay up till then. He said we’ll figure it around the 2nd weekend in November. So Friday the 6th at 8 am was the time and he was here with about 10 adult men in gear, 2 huge trucks, a grinder AND Sebastian! He and his crew did just what he said he was going to do! EXCELLENT job! It was fate that we found this wonderful man and his company!!! I will have absolutely no problem sending him to others! Thanks and God Bless!

I’m not here to tell you to never use this company for tree service because I’m quite certain that most of their jobs probably do go without incident and end peacefully. Unfortunately that was not my experience, which instead ended with the police. Complications arose and they were not handled professionally. I was asked for the final payment multiple times, even before the job was complete. I refused since there was damage. My advice if/when you do deal with this company (or any company really) is to get everything in writing and do not pay in full until you are satisfied that the contract has been met. In short, some debris was left behind and my property was damaged during the removal of my trees. This information was not volunteered to me; instead I had to confront Sebastian with my video surveillance evidence. He offered a certain amount that was too low to cover the costs, which I refused. We agreed that I would need a written quote from the original fence installers, and that amount would be deducted. He then harassed my family and me for the few days following. Showing up unannounced, yelling, screaming, swearing, staring over the fence, yelling to the neighbors, taking photos videos of my family and I in our backyard, and saying he will not leave until he gets paid. That night, I sent a text and email stating that I did not want him on the property again unless previously authorized by me. I also stated the remaining issues of why payment was being withheld. I received numerous written replies about how I am a “scum bag deadbeat f******g loser”, and other various terms. Certainly not professional. The next morning Sebastian proceeded to drive a truck onto my driveway and dump an entire load (about 30 feet long by 6 feet high by 10 feet wide) of debris all over the driveway blocking access to both garage doors. This was a malicious act of illegal dumping in an attempt to extort money from me. My wife was home with 2 kids and asked him not to dump it, to which he ignored and continued to do so. The police were called, they looked at the contract, the photos, videos, texts, emails, etc. They tried to call Sebastian but he did not answer. He then pulled up with another truck load of stumps that he planned on dumping, but the officer was there. He was ordered to clean the debris and a fairer amount was negotiated to deduct from the final payment. The criminal act of illegal dumping is being pursued by the officer. Without the property damage complications I believe this would’ve been a pleasant experience with this company, but I feel that Sebastian let his temper and personal feelings run his business instead of logic and reason. Complications happen, it's life and no one is perfect, but they can and should be handled much more civilly. All in all, a very troublesome, stressful and unprofessional experience that could’ve been easily avoided.

The actual work was excellent. Quick and professional. Getting him there was a bit of a chore. We scheduled an appointment but he was a no show. I understand that sometimes this happens so I call to reschedule. Only he said He wasn't supposed to come out until the following week, on a different day. I find it hard to believe I marked the calendar that incorrectly. The next appointment came and went, no tree guy. So I called again and so the appointment was scheduled for this other day. The entire time he had a sign in my yard advertising. At this point I took down the sign, and miraculously he showed up for the next appointment. I dislike marking down contractors for no shows, as they are often one man operations and things slip, even for professionals. But I really dislike feeling used or scammed in any way. I felt used for the fact that it didn't seem to be the right day until after I took the sign down, and scammed because I do expect the contractor to own up to double booking, not calling and that sort of thing and trying to rectify it. I don't know what was going on with the scheduling, but even on my worst days I have not written down the wrong thing on the calendar this many times. Trying to pass the buck/blow it off is worse than the not showing up. I honestly don't know if I'd use them again. The work was good but I really prefer that if they can't show up to say so and not put it back on me. It took three weeks from the first appointment they missed to get it done. Not good when a stiff breeze might fell a series of branches onto the car.

The owner of the tree company, Sebastian was terrific and i would recommend end him to everyone, He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He did the job well and left everything neat and clean. He went above and beyond the call of duty in the way he handled the job.

I got a couple of estimate.  They were very knowledgeable and they know it was an aggressive specie and knowledgeable about the tree.  They were quick in and out.  They're very clean.  They picked out all the branches and stuff.

Sebastian came out for an estimate soon after contacting him. He gave good suggestions and it was easy to work with him and go through everything we wanted to have done. He explained everything well and was very responsive throughout the process with follow up questions. They scheduled soon after recieving signed estimate, arrived on time and completed the work fast. Everything (and some more) was done, it looks great and they cleaned up nicely. Couldn't ask for more or a better price for the amount of work they did. Will for sure ask them again in the future.

Sebastian and his crew worked hard to accomplish the job. As they went from tree to tree he consulted with me before cutting the limbs. Even after they were finished cutting, he still asked me if it was done to my satisfaction or could he do more. They were punctual, came with the right equipment and finished the job within 3 hours. The price was what was agreed upon in the beginning and reasonable.

I contacted New England Tree via their web set requesting an estimate for a tree removal in the backyard of my mothers home in Salem, MA. Sebastian called me back within a day and within two days I had my free estimate. Within 4 days we had an agreed to price and a scheduled date. Within those 4 days I asked numerous questions and Sebastian always provided responses which were easy to understand. On the day we had scheduled, Sebastian and his crew arrived within the time that was committed. It was amazing to watch them work. It was obvious that they were knowledgable for they removed tree limbs working around and between electrical, telephone and cable wires connected to the telephone poles & our homes. As a tree limb came down, the crew on the ground worked fast to shred the branches / leaves while moving the larger logs into the driveway. The entire tree removal & clean-up was completed in less than 4 hours. I was extremely impressed from start to finish with New England Tree. Sebastian is easy to work with; he and his crew are not only very professional but obviously very skilled in their profession. I would not hesitate to contact Sebastian again if I need any type of tree removed.

Sebastian and his team at New England Tree was a great company to work with, and I would recommend them to anyone here on the North Shore.  They started the work around 830AM, and were completely finished by 12NOON.  They were $1500.00 cheaper than one other quote, and were able to get the job done without using expensive police detail.  They partnered with Eric's Crane Service (Abington, MA), who had the equipment to remove the sawed-off tree sections out of harms' way.

They arrived a day late. They said it would be a one day job, and it took 3 days. They left a mess that we had to clean up. Removing and grinding the stump was a separate charge, so we had someone else do that. He showed up without notice to do the fence repair. He walked around to the back, and was standing at my back door unannounced. I will never call them again.

My first experience with this company was quite good--or so I thought at the time.  Unfortunately, the problem tree has grown back.  However, my second experience with this company has been so frighteningly awful that I felt it better to leave the tree alone rather than call them back.  When removing a neighbor's chestnut tree from where it was damaging a concrete wall on my property, New England Tree backed their truck into that same wall, damaging the wall severely.  Unfortunately, they refused to admit that they had damaged the wall and even claimed that the damage was a pre-existing condition.  (You'd think I would notice scrapes and a two-foot wide hole in the middle of my concrete block wall, which I park next to every day, wouldn' t you?)
In addition, well aware of the value of chestnut wood, I asked that the tree's remains be sawwed into six-foot lengths and stacked neatly in my driveway. When I got home after the work was done, I found my driveway littered with sawdust and stumps ranging from about 18? long to about 24? long?far too small (short) to be worth much. It took me considerable time and effort to remove these stumps and make room so I could park in the driveway?and aggravation I did not need, especially considering my back troubles.
Unfortunately, several attempts to reach New England Tree resulted in several humiliating phone calls. These accomplished nothing. Eventually, I had to involve my attorney, and, on his advice, I have turned the matter over to the insurance companies who is compensating me about $3000 to repair the damaged wall, but who may consequently raise my premiums. Unfortunately, the only person I could find who could repair such a wall wanted almost $8000 for the job.
I patched the wall as best I could on my own, since it clearly seems to be difficult if not impossible to find a professional who will repair it.
It should be noted that while New England Tree's lawn-signs indicate they are ?licensed and insured?, I was never offered or provided an insurance binder, and my experience with them, along with comments from my insurance company, lead me to question whether or not they are actually insured at all.
Recommendation: This company is best avoided.

Response from New England Tree Company
"We appreciate all customers and respect their property as if it were our own. Please note, that we did not avoid speaking with the member, however, we did speak with his and our insurance company who determined that after inspection of the truck as well as the retaining wall, New England Tree was determined to have no fault in this alleged damage to the member's retaining wall, nor was it possible for our truck to have damaged his wall in the location which had shown damage prior to our starting the job. In the end, we work hard and pride ourself on the quality of work we do for our clients. It is unfortunate that this job is looked upon negatively for an issue unrelated to our tree work."

Sebastian replied quickly to my e-mail request for an estimate. We met soon after and he told me what he would do and the cost.  An appt. was made to do the job the next week.  They came on time and were finished in short order.  The tree looks much better now.  I am happy.

Exemplary work!  Extremely prompt and accommodating, Sebastian not only performed the needed work two and a half weeks before the next bidder was available to do it, he did the job on 9 days notice (the other professional had several weeks notice) and actually came to provide an estimate, patiently waiting for me for quite some time as I was delayed coming home from work by problems on the train. Sebastian was also very accommodating with regard to payment, which was also much appreciated, especially as I had little choice in removing the trees in question.  These trees posed a hazard and were in a position where they were pushing over an outbuilding and would likely have fallen in the next big storm. I cannot find any fault with the work Sebastian did and highly recommend him--He even found time to help out several of my neighbors at the same time, which I really appreciate....   HIGHLY recommended!
