Great attention to detail and suggestions for uncertainties I had. Came in the day promised and did exactly what he said. He was always just a cell call away before and after. We will be using him for our current driveway soon. Price was competitive, but not the lowest.

They were wonderful. Another company came over and gave us an estimate and we were trying to negotiate with them. He said he'd call us back but he never did. I got a call from them yesterday but he was like three weeks away. Whittier Paving came in and they were very prompt. They were a thousand bucks less than the other guy and they were good. I would recommend them to anybody. It was about a 700-square foot driveway and I had a motorcycle shed in the driveway and he needed to pick that up. He paved underneath it and put the shed back down and they did that with no trouble. He looked for extras. The thing that separates one company from another is the extra things they do and they did do extra things. I had not a complaint. We had four or five estimates. They may not have been the lowest but they were certainly lower than the two we had. They were very respectful. I can't think of anything where they weren't top-notch.

They had the lowest price($4600) of the quotes I got by good a margin. We have a pretty long driveway so the quote was very attractive. So we went with them and they showed up promptly early on a Friday morning. Three guys showed up to do the work plus Joe the owner(?). The guys were very nice and started on the job right away digging up the old driveway. I left to go to work for
the day and then got a call from Joe later that afternoon. He said that the soil under the driveway is wetter than most homes so it would require extra gravel. He mentioned that he remembers that the neighborhood we live in is like that since he had done another job around here. So he said it would cost another $600 to cover the extra gravel and that due to the extra time needed they would have to come back Monday to finish the job. I agreed to the extra charges since total cost was still below other quotes. So we had to stay off the driveway for the weekend and they came back out early Monday morning to finish the job.
Quality of job: Overall it came out okay. I was hoping/expecting a little better. There were too many seams but that was more cosmetic than anything and Joe said they will fade with time. However the issues that were more troubling were the numerous puddles caused after a it rained. Most notably by the entrance of my back deck(our main entrance). The puddle there was the biggest of them all and I worried about issues in the winter. I called Joe to let him know and he promised to come out to fix. After several calls he sent out a couple guys to "patch" it up. Looks like they just laid down a bunch of extra asphalt and stamped it down and told my wife that we could/should re-seal the driveway next year. So now the puddle by the deck is gone but it now puddles around the patch. Also the patch job makes the whole driveway look less professionally done. Again overall it was an okay job but not what I was hoping/expecting. I'm also not sure of there practice of adding to the price half way into the job. Wonder if that's what they do to others or was it just me. I think I have learned my lesson with going with lowest quote.

The work was excellent. The responded right away for the estimate. I'm very happy with the result, and Joe was very knowledgeable, clear, and professional. There were a couple of "we'll call you on..." and I had to call them the next day because they hadn't called. No big deal, you have to stay on top of these things.

It went really, really well. They were very professional and worked hard, they were there when they said they were going to be there. And the quote was accurate. The boss who also owns it was also on site. I don't have a bad thing to say about them.

Each time previously that I have had my driveway paved, the new asphalt coat would develop an ever-widening gap between its edge and the garage entry, with a big bump about 8 feet out. Also, a crack-line would occur where the main driveway met the pull-out parking area, added years ago.
This time I called in 3 companies to bid the job. The company I had used previously submitted the highest bid this time. The "middle bid" company was so upset that I was even considering using someone other than them that they came back to talk with me and assured me that for their bid amount they'd do a really professional job. (???)
Whittier was the only company the of 3 to diagnose the problem of the gap as caused by clay soil under the driveway that had swelled (the bump) and pulled away from the garage as it absorbed water. I had dealt with clay soil problems elsewhere on the property: it made sense! They excavated the clay soil, removed it , disposed of it, and replaced it with clean fill, and resurfaced the entire driveway All was resolved at the best (lowest) price.
The men from Whittier arrived on schedule and addressed the task in an organized and professional manner, working steadily.
It's easy to recommend them. 3 generations have built this company's reputation the old fashioned way: one satisfied customer at a time.

Whittier Paving was great to work with. They were prompt, friendly and professional. They're a 3rd generation Family business that I highly recommend.
