His punctuality was terrible, he'd say he's coming and then come later or not come at all. He also said he'd pull a permit for installing a toilet (which sounds silly, but I'd get a rebate from the town for replacing a toilet) and I paid him to pull the permit, but he never did it. He did get the work done and the work seems to be ok, but I would not hire him again because he is not reliable.

We found out that he never pulled permits.   He installed the meter incorrectly  so we never got credit for water used outside.   We ended up with an excess of $950.00

This was one of the worst contractor experiences we have had. Our written signed contract was for a Trane furnace. After ripping out the old furnace he called the morning of the install to say that our house could not support a Trane furnace. That is a lie. We have 2 furnaces and the other is a Trane. And after checking the Trane website I discovered that he is not a contractor that is listed by them as authorized to sell the product. Anyway - he installed a low end furnace and water heater and we have had major problems. The furnace doesn't properly heat our first floor. 1/2 of the first floor is cold all winter. He never installed a part that us required per the furnaces manual and we had to pay to have another plumber install it. He left an old component to the system and we have been told by 2 separate plumbers that it is going to cause septic problems. It also makes a house so loud we can hear it in our living room every time the furnace kicks on. Also our water takes 5 full minutes to heat up. We turn on the shower and brush our teeth and wait before we can shower. I would not let this man Back in our house - EVER! We are replacing the furnace and water heater pieces of junk he installed. Lesson learned.
