According to the dealer--which is where I took my car first--the code for the check engine light indicated a need for a new catalytic converter (CC) . . . for $1800. Knowing Hondas like I do, I was pretty certain that this was not the case--my car was simply not old enough. So I decided to get a second opinion and after some research found Nick at Hatheway, who came highly recommended. He did a computer diagnosis and also got the code for a CC replacement. However, Nick didn't really believe it either and took a harder look and listen. He heard an unusual noise that turned out to be an air leak near the converter that was causing the false CC reading. It took him longer to do the work than he first quoted because a bolt was "frozen" on and broke off when he tried to remove it. Nick actually apologized for this and split the cost of the extra time with me. He also went out of his way to explain what the problem actually was and make sure that I understood what was really going on. In the end he fixed the leak and the false code issue for $300. I highly recommend Nick and Hatheway Auto.

Nick Hatheway is an all around terrific guy who is honest, thorough and will not do work that is unnecessary on your car. We have found his prices to be fair and his customer service is beyond compare.

After getting a quote from my Lexus Dealer for $3,000, we had a referral to try Hatheway Auto. They took me right away and fixed what needed to get done for $300.00. Told me I would need new tires in the near future which they don't do. I went to get my tires somewhere else (Sullivan Tire) and was told I needed new breaks immediately and I told them thanks I will check with my mechanic. So I go to Hatheway who lets me know I have a good 10,000 miles left before I need to do so. I cannot say enough about the owner Nick who is so nice and professional. They get right back to you and fix your car for a very fair price and I feel confident they are just doing the work that is needed which we all know is hard to find. Being new to the area I feel so fortunate we found him. We have referred friends to him since and they are just as satisfied as we are.

He is a local guy. I have been going to him for 25 years. He knows GM inside and out. I like the service and like the guys. I use them all the time for everything. Very inexpensive. Never have a complaint or have to go back to them. I have no problem leaving my car with them, they treat it as if it were their own.
