The Teheen's were thankfully recommended to us by our cabinet person and two of our close neighbors. We had a pipe crack in our kitchen wall and it subsequently flooded the entire room requiring a total kitchen remodel. We initially started with another contractor in town and quickly realized this plumber/contracting team was unprofessional, lacked business ethics and wouldn't commit to a pricing contract. So......we called on Teheen Construction.
Teheen Construction came in and delivered. Mike, the general contractor and John (his father) came in and took over with total professionalism and honesty. They came when they said they were going to come, offered suggestions based on past experiences and got the kitchen up and running in the time frame we needed. It is not easy going without a kitchen with three young kids.They went out of their way several times when I didn't even ask. There was part of the cabinet set up I mentioned I didn't really like (which was something I ordered myself) and they custom made a piece of wood so it looked exactly the way I wanted and did the same for my under cabinet lighting. They spent so much extra time making sure my cabinets/granite/ floors/tile looked just right. Both Mike and John did everything to make sure I was completely satisfied every step of the process. My husband who can be difficult to please at times was also very satisfied throughout the project. They always made sure the house was cleaned up when they left, were very considerate of the kids and myself especially when my daughter had pneumonia (making sure to keep all dust contained..etc). They also managed any subcontractors, and seem to have a long term relationship with them as well. The electrician is actually Mike's brother John who is also very attentive.
The kitchen looks exactly how I wanted it and even though we weren't looking to take on the project, I am so happy we did it! Another thing we really appreciate is that Mike stayed 100% on budget! We added 1 or two extras and he was upfront about those things and we had no surprise invoices at the end of the project!
Lastly, a bonus is that Mike and his dad have nice, likable, kind personalities which is comforting when someone is spending a lot of time in your home with your family. I can't even think of a negative thing to say except for I wish I would have been using them sooner. Being relatively new to the area, we have had some negative experiences with other home projects and it was refreshing working with Mike and family.
I know the Teheen's do not need a recommendation from me due to their loyal repeat customers and stellar reputation but I thought they deserved one either way. I would recommend them for any home project.

John and Michael came and did the home inspection for me and found that the house actually had knob and tube still connected throughout the house. This was something not disclosed and something I didn't even realize myself. They basically saved me a $20,000 headache with everything they found. Unfortunately that was not the house I ended up purchasing but they saved me alot of headache and money upfront. I have at this time decided to purchase a house and put the funds I have into the repairs. I would absolutely hire them any day of the week, they are awesome and fair.
