M&D heating and A/C

He was able to come over the same day due to snowstorm cancellations. He was very neat. He took off his boots before coming in since they were snow covered. He went right to work and removed the old humidifier. Then he installed the new one. He made one mistake. He did not turn off the power before working on the 24volt circuit and grounded out the system. He tried to correct it but I didn't want him to open the hvac system since it is still under warranty. When he left the thermostat was still not working and we had no heat. I called the company who installed the hvac and they were able to come over. The tech found that the system had been shorted and a fuse blown. He replaced the fuse and everything worked fine. The only problem was that since the company did not install the humidifier, I had to pay a $169 service call. So instead of $125 I had to pay $269. I called Michael and told him next time he should turn off the breaker before working on anything electrical.
