We were completely happy with the wonderful job that Scott and his team did to insulate our very drafty 1884 Colonial. The team was thorough, professional, and took care to clean up after. Metro Insulation is an approved contractor with Mass Save, which pays a large percentage of the cost, so we were especially pleased to save money while having the work done by this exceptional company. Highly and enthusiastically recommend!

Job went very smoothly, only took 6 hours to do attic and garage ceiling. Contract was for R-38 in the attic, which required around 90 bags of cellulose, and they blew in 120 bags, so we got more than strictly needed by contract. Bedroom floors above the garage are noticeable warmer now, and we expect to save around 300 gallons of heating oil this year. Owner Scott was responsive and good to deal with.

These guys are truly the best. Scott was incredibly attentive. He came out quickly, gave us an estimate same day, and completed the job very quickly. The building inspector, carpenter, plasterers... basically everyone who has come in after their work has commented how nice of a job Metro did. I couldn't be happier with them and would HIGHLY recommend them! They are also affiliated with Mass Save so we are having them come back out to do the rest of our house. You can't go wrong with these guys!

Jim Landeville came out and looked at the job.  Emailed me a very competitive quote that same day.  I had said I would like it done relatively soon.  He called me the next week and said they had a morning opening on that Friday.  They came and did the job quickly with no problems.  Everything appeared to be done well - I checked the depth of the foam and the cellulose pack.  They cleaned up after themselves.  They came, they saw, they did and it was excellent! Their price was very good as well.  I have another insulation job in my attic which will need to be done once the asbestos containing vermiculite is removed and I will be calling them again.

I highly recommend this company. if you want a company that pays attention to detail and handles insulation projects the right way, Metro is the right company. they completed the project in the time frame that they initially said and there was no guessing with the price. Scott provided his rates on the initial estimate and everything was crystal clear. I am not an insulation expert but the City of Newton building inspector told me that Metro's work was the best insulation job that he has ever seen. The inspector has been on the job for 20 + years.

Scott is conscientious, straight-forward, and flexible. He is probably the best contractor I have dealt with, of the many I have dealt with, over the past two years. I wish I could find other tradesmen as good as Scott.

These were wonderful people to work with. Every one of crew was pleasant and conscientious. They were flexible about the approach to the mansard roof conditions and did a beautiful invisible job. They painted areas that were not strictly part of the job. The full cost was reasonable, but I only paid about a third due to Mass Save program.

Scott from Metro sent over an awesome team this Sat. insulated my attic, sealed my doors and saved me $1580.00. They were great. 

Work went well.  I liked dealing with them.  There was a problem where a electric line in the wall was cut.  They brought in an electrician right away to find and repair the problem.  They even offered to touch up the paint on the outside when the weather would permit.  So far the weather has not cooperated.

Great communication and very professional. Quoted the work would take 2 days but were finished in 1. We used Mass Save for a quote and Metro used less insulation than stated and will bill us for the actual amount used.

Professionalism all the way, from the first contact. Denise in the office was great about arranging things, answering questions, and confirming. Scott came to check out the job when he said he would. The workers arrived early. Not only were they thorough and neat (cleaned up everything) but they were personable. They finished early. They also saved me (and the state) some money by reporting that a small area had already been insulated. They didn't have to do this: I never would have known. I recommend them without reservation. And how often can you say that?!

Fantastic! The team was a few minutes early. They were courteous and reviewed the work to be done (insulate the attic, air seal the rest of the house). Each team member was introduced to me so I knew who was in the house. They took a quick survey, looking from the basement (back door), side and front doors, and into the attic to see what had been done. The team immediately got to work. Anything they needed from me (i.e., all windows closed for air sealing test) they asked for assistance with; otherwise, they independently completed the work. They were respectful of our house, placing tarps down our stairs (inside and out) to minimize damage and dirt and covering clothes and other surfaces with plastic sheeting during work. When they were done, they left the house broom-clean and made suggestions for future work. I would absolutely hire these guys again!

Overall it went well. The workman were efficient, and responsible. The job was done well and we were very please with the result. They made a bit of a mess in the attic and left some insulation on the floor in the basement, but nothing too horrible. We got $2000 off the original price by going through the MassSave program so we definitely recommend that!

Very good experience, Scott called over at the pre arranged time, he was very professional and very knowledgeable. He accommadated the work as I was up against a drywall deadline and he arranged to have the work done very promptly. Overall I'm very impressed with Scott and his crew, I would highly recommend them.

Scott was prompt with his estimate in spite of the fact that he was initially under the weather when we called him and also very busy with new jobs. He was more expensive than fiberglass, but only by a couple hundred dollars, and he was much less expensive than others offering a similar product. His crew arrived promptly, completed their work, and did an excellent job of keeping the house relatively clean (the nature of blowing green insulation is extremely messy). Moreover, Scott was flexible with his payment timeline. Ordinarily, payment is due when a job is completed. However, we refinanced and received a construction loan so all work must first be inspected before payment is released. Scott understood the process and was very accommodating. On the day he arrived to collect payment (about a week after work was completed), Scott went upstairs and fixed an issue that was not even his fault. A light was temporarily placed in the wrong location and Scott removed it and replaced the insulation that fell from the gap. If the need ever arises again we will call Scott without hesitation.

When the work was done initially, I was extremely happy with the work and professionalism of the team. Everyone noticed a difference in the warmth of the homes right away. The crew was tidy, too. However, after having an energy audit several years later with an infrared camera, I discovered some spots were not filled as effectively as they should have been. When I showed the results to the owner, his response was immediate and the voids were filled within one week. Again, the team that came was professional and they brought an infrared camera along to check their work. Since the work was done some time ago, I'm not sure how widely used the infrared technology was, but I would suggest that anyone getting insultation blown in insist that the vendor does a check afterwards to make sure it's done right the first time. Not all vendors would be as responsible as Metro Insulation in rectifying the situation. Given their attention to customer service, I'd still give them high marks for the work done and I would recommend them to others.

Scott looked the house over in great detail, gave his recommendations, and provided an accurate estimate on the spot. His crew showed up on time and was very polite and professional. Despite our old and brittle shingles you can barely tell where they drilled their holes. There were two places where the cellulose blew through the stuffed/open wall into the basement (balloon framing), but they did a neat job cleaning up. Since we have dormers, mansard roof, diagonal cross framing, etc., we had someone check the work with an IR camera towards the end of the 2nd day. Scott's crew had only missed a small number of odd cavities (he had promised to get ~ 95% of cavities, and did better than that), and they promptly filled the ones they overlooked. They also found decent previous insulation around one room and reduced their price accordingly. The difference in comfort was immediate, and due to lower heating costs together with the NStar weatherization rebate and tax credit we'll break even next winter.
