We bought a home knowing it had an oozing fuel tank that needed replacement. Bond-Tite was out to look over our situation within days of our call, suggested we put some deodorizing kitty litter under the tank, and scheduled a tank replacement in about two weeks. The estimator explained the option to add a tray under the tank, just in case, which we did. It was spring and the tank was working, so there was little urgency. The two service men arrived on schedule, looked over the space, and went to work. They had easy access to the bulkhead, so the removal and replacement went without a hitch. The old tank was more than half full and they were able to replace almost all the oil they pumped out. Everyone was courteous and respectful of our property, no surprises on the final cost. The inspector had a question about a valve the installers had used, but apparently their choice was appropriate because he signed off on the installation. We'd use them again, but hope we don't have to.

The Fire Department came out to check and see if I needed to put a new line in, and told me it was the law for Massachusetts. Whenever they put in a new tank; they have to put in a new line. The assessment meeting was prompt. The insurance company had a gentlemen from Bond-tite come out to look at the tank, and it ended up taking 2 weeks to schedule the job. I did run out of oil in the intervening time, which was good that they didn't have to remove the oil, but that did mean that I ran out of hot water and heat. The gentlemen that came out to look didn't tell me about a tray that would go under the tank to catch any leaks. I would've purchased it, had I known, having gone through an oil leak now. I had to call the company to find out the young men were late; they didn't call me. The tank was located in my store room, and easy to get out without going up stairs or digging any trenches. I did have to move a bit of stuff around in the garage, and it was a little tight, but they did a good job getting to everything. They started to take the legs off the tank and were happy that they was no oil. They crashed into the new door I had installed 2 weeks ago, and marked up the doorway as well. They were trying to force the tank through the door, and I told them to stop. There was a mirrored medicine cabinet that got broken. As they were installing the new tank, I called about the tray too, and they told me I couldn't pick one up myself, but they'd sell me one for a little over $100. It would be a smaller tray that would fit underneath the tank to catch any oil that could leak out. The lead-person on the job, and he was very rude. He was passive-aggressive, and very unhelpful. He knew I was out of heat and hot water because the company hadn't been out to deliver the new oil before they left. He even left the store room door open to the cold. I noticed a few hours later, and ended up going to close it myself. The other person was very nice, and he tried to clean up the pieces and fix the problem. They ended up offering me $50 to repair the door (which actually cost $60) but the lead didn't mention the medicine cabinet. I called Bond-Tite again and their customer service over the phone was great. They offered to pay the extra to fix the door, along with the money to fix the medicine cabinet. I appreciated their efforts to make amends; they really understand customer service. The experience was unhappy only due to the lead on the job's poor demeanor; everything else went fine, except for the broken things; and I would use them again.
