Home Security System Service
When Mr. Capone completed the first phase of work, he left an invoice for the whole amount. I assumed, incorrectly, that he would return in the next few days to complete the job with the replacement of the LEDs. In the meantime, I agreed to have a check sent up from our accounting office in Washington, DC.
Five days later, Mr. Capone returned to the business location, not to complete the job, but to collect payment in full.
Upon learning that Mr. Capone stopped by the business, I phoned him directly to inquire when he would be returning to complete the work. He did not return my call.
Exactly seven days later, Mr. Capone contacted a colleague to again inquire about payment. I again phoned Mr. Capone and was able to reach him to discuss the situation. I again inquired when the work would be completed, and given the length of time, expressed my doubt that it would be completed.
The conversation quickly devolved from there. Mr. Capone then claimed the LEDs were a favor, and not included in the original quote. Further, he stated that since it hand been 12 days since date of invoice, he was no longer willing to perform the work of addressing the malfunctioning LEDs. When I stated that was a stipulation of payment as it was my understanding when I agreed to initiate payment originally, he stated he would reprogram the lock to prevent access by me and my colleagues. When I reminded him we have several cameras on property and he would do so at his own peril, he stated "You ever hear of a black hood?".
Given the level of access Mr. Capone was granted to address the issues of the magnetic lock, his threat was not taken lightly. At this point, I told Mr. Capone that I will guarantee there would be a check at the store for his retrieval after 12 PM EDT on Tuesday September 23, 2014. As of the date of this review, Mr. Capone has not retrieved the check.
Given the unprofessionalism and thug-like behavior of Mr. Capone, I was forced to hire another local company to reprogram the locks and replaced the defective LEDs at a further expense to me. Based upon his threat, which I took seriously, I had no choice to protect the safety and security of my employees and property.
