Mike McMillan of Happy Homes is the very best kind of person you want to work on your house. He is the most honest, straightforward, and hardworking person I've met in the business. I've been using him for 6 years and recommend him to everyone I know. It all began when my wife and I found a beat up, rundown, house for sale, in the perfect location. It was an abandoned home in the worst of conditions. We trembled at the magnitude of renovations needed. My cousin-in-law said he was close friends with a contractor in his church. He introduced us to Mike, who was the one that gave us confidence to buy the house. For the next year, Mike oversaw and personally worked on the total renovation of the house. He took it down to the foundation and outer walls, added a floor, and turned it into a sparkling gem of a home. Since then, he's done many other jobs for us. Currently, he is working on a rear deck/balcony that we had planned for, but never built because our funds had run out.
Please note that Mike works on one project at a time, and he always works with his own hands. Mike answers all his own calls. This means that you might not be able to reach him right away. He always checks his messages, but sometimes, it takes a bit to hear back. In other words, don't be so impressed by the most responsive contractor - he might be good at answering phones, but who will he be sending to do the work? And how many projects is his company working on? Will you get the short end of the stick?
These are things I've never had to worry about with Mike. He will be upfront about cost, timetable, etc. He'll treat you the same before AND after you sign the contract and pay the deposit.

They are very good.  Overall I’m satisfied with them.  They do exceptional work.  They are reliable and trustworthy.  They’ve been excellent at what they’ve been doing.
