sJune 24, 2014 - service rep came to my home for the annual maintenance check per my PAID contract with this company - rep found that there was a leak and that some valves needed to be replaced - he said that the office would call me to schedule the repairs - on July 24 (a month later) I called the office to ask about when the repairs would be scheduled and was told that the repair manager would call me within a couple of weeks - she had NO explanation as to WHY it would take him that long to contact me
it is now August 7th and I called to follow up and found that they were late mailing out the new maintenance contracts and that mine expired on July 18th - once again there was NO explanation as to why no one had contacted me - so what they have done is to NOT contact me until my contract expired so that no part of the repairs would be covered by my paid contract
last year after the maintenance check was done and the service rep signed that everything was in good working order, I got a very
threatening letter to the effect that my furnace was in need of replacement and included a special for me to buy a new furnace from them - I called and asked for an explanation and was told that they did NOT know about the letter, until I said that I was going to forward it to my lawyer, then she said that the marketing company must have sent it
I would NOT trust this company to do ANYTHING - service reps have all been very nice and seemed to know their jobs - BUT whoever is running the company has questionable ethics - I let the issue with the threatening letter pass BUT THIS ONE IS WAY TOO SERIOUS TO LET PASS - I don't know if it is a safety issue or not
Service was finally done 8/19/14 - to only 1 valve - repair rep was non-communicative - just wanted a check for the $181 that he said was NOT covered (probably due to them waiting until my contract expired to finally do the work) - left the area where he was working very dirty - did not clean up the metal droppings or the pad with oil, etc residue - I am looking for a new oil company ASAP

I bought an old farm house and it had a converted cold burner from the 1950's and they kept that burner working for 9 years. The burner finally died at the end of last year and they replaced it. They had some internal conflict going on within the company. The gentleman that was supposed to have given me the quote had a family emergency and for whatever reason the staff wasn't communicating that to me after I repeatedly called them saying that I needed to get it in because I didn't have any heat. One of their workers who actually ended up working on my boiler and put it in took it upon himself to literally drive that quote down to me knowing full well that if he didn't do that they were going to lose a customer. I felt that irregardless of what the issue was hindsight is always 20/20. The customer service people could've simply stated to me that so-and-so was in the hospital with his son and I would've backed off because I had no idea. They are not the cheapest ones out there, but they are not exactly the most expensive ones. I feel that they are loyal to their customer base and were willing to meet me halfway. Only due to my frustration I kind of threw out to them that I wanted an automatic water feeder put onto my burner plus I wanted them to pay for it and they felt like that was an adequate request to put in.

They are super dependable. We could have jumped ship with them along time ago but we've stayed with them for 16 years. We are very happy with their services. When we had acute home heating oil shortage and they were saying that you were sort of s.o.l. if you didn't have a contract with the company, and we did not have a contract with them at that time, we were cash on delivery, but, because we had been with Al's home heating oil for a long time as a cash and delivery person, they did deliver to us even though we didn't have a contract with them. They are pretty competitive in pricing and their service is great.
