Phone Service - Cellular, Landline Phone Service
Forget it. Prepare to be infinitely frustrated. Were it not for the excellent technician that came to my house, all scores would be F-.
1. They mailed me a modem and tel. jack equipment and it was delivered by UPS to the wrong address.
2. The modem did not work when I plugged it in.
3. On a Friday, a technician visit was promised for the following Thursday and never happened.
4. When I checked on Wed by calling Verizon, I was told there was no visit scheduled. Since neither phone nor modem equipment was working, I asked for a technician and was given one for 08:30 to 09:30 on Friday.
5. The Technician made it at about noon on Friday. He worked hard to get thins up and running and i was functional for phone and internet by 1:30. I had been told I would get 25 mbps service. I got "3", which translates into about 1.5. I had never received the "activation email" that would allow me to initiate an internet connection.
6. On Sunday solicitation and hang-up phone calls began with 3 or 4, including ones that were companies that obviously knew I had just gotten this new phone number and had probably just moved into a new place. Has Verizon SOLD my number to vendors?
7. After 4 more unsolicited calls on Monday, including one when I was asleep, I called Verizon customer service and the initial menus without an option for telephone questions (there only internet options) and when I chose the "other" option, the recording indicated I was connected to internet tech troubleshooting.
8) I waited and was entertained by an obvious ESL student who placates callers with condescending platitudes. He finally connected me with a Verizon security office in Irving TX. She offered me a change of phone number (a new one but I reasoned with her that if Verizon were selling the "new numbers" list to vendors, that was not a solution). I told her I has already signed up for both state and federal no-call lists. She offered that new versions of Panasonic phone allow number blocking, a useless info piece because I am not about to buy new phones. She did not say that new numbers were NOT sold by Verizon to vendor.
What kind of a cruel joke is this company? There is NO customer service save from field techs.

Phone Service - Cellular, TV Service - Cable
We had previously been with Comcast and we were dissatisfied on a number of levels mainly billing and so we solicited people from Verizon to come and chat with us. It has been going very well. If there are any problems, they take care of them right away, and they had been able to take care of things over the phone which, I think, is helpful.

Landline Phone Service
I pay for home insurance, so if there is a problem with my line, I can call them and they come in and find the problem. When I need a technician to come out, they come right out. However, the last time I called for help to get my messages, I got somebody that was kind of snooty.

I have had terrible service. You get charged a late fee for the following month, if you don't pay on time. You pay this before you receive the service. The billing is illegal. You get the bill 2 weeks before it is due. If you try to change a service, you have to pay more. I feel like, the attorney general should be looking into this. There are not a lot of options. If you get rid of your land line, they charge you more just to have cable and internet. It is manipulative. I hear everyone I work with, they hate Verizon, but there are no other options. We wanted to cut down our bill as it was getting ridiculous. When I talked to the women, she said it is going to go up and up. I told her I just wanted the Internet. They are charging me $80 just for the internet. People are trying to cut back and they are using alternatives. I think people are sick of the cable stations manipulating everything so much.

Phone Service - Cellular
I had a really bad experience in the fall and then I had a really good experience recently. It was a case of identity theft where somebody tried to use my information to buy phone equipment. The person I talked to was just remarkable. She found everything and I had addressed the problem last fall with another guy that said he really didn't know what happened. I had stopped getting bills because somebody had called up and changed my address to some weird address in Pennsylvania. He said that it wasn't a problem. Then I got a huge bill and found that somebody had tried to change the address and buy new equipment. The woman that took care of me was like a bulldog. She did everything she could possibly do and then reported it to the fraud people. There was one experience that was not so good and another that was just outstanding.

TV Service - Cable, TV Repair
We just used them for TV repair, but we haven't needed them for actual equipment repair, it was just the cable connection. They didn't come out they actually do service remotely from there. It was free as it was part of the service. They reset the cable box because we were having issues connecting to the internet and one of our cable boxes weren't working. They are very helpful. It is nice they can do remotely as they don't have to come to your home or make an appointment and they have service 24/7.
