Went well, in time and budget

This was not our first major home removation project, and we know that no job runs perfectly. Issues come up unexpectedly and have to be addressed. How the contractor responds to issues is crucial, because there could be any number of issues over the course of a job. Tom was very responsive to any issue that we raised, and we were able to come to a reasonable resolution. The job was completed a few weeks ago, and so we will have to wait and see how the workmanship holds up over time. But, at this point, we are very happy with the results, and would recommend TKD Construction to anyone considering a home renovation project.

Excellent. The finished work has transformed the look of the house. Working with Tom (owner) was a pleasure.

After we accepted the very competitive bid, Tom told us he would likely get to this in the next 4-5 weeks. The following week, he called to inform us the job would be starting in a few days. The crew showed up around 8am and they were mostly finished by 7pm - a couple of the guys showed up on Saturday to wrap up what hadn't been finished due to darkness. Looks great and the torrential downpour that came a few days after the installation pretty much stayed outside. Tom's really well organized and has lined up a highly competent roofing crew. Added bonus: the crew managed to preserve the extensive (and very expensive) flower garden in front of the house that might have otherwise been obliterated by tons of old roofing crashing down on it.

Went very smoothly from start to finish. Tom was very professional, answered questions and addressed our concerns. He pointed out possible problems and how they would be addressed. The crew was very professional and punctual. They cleaned up after themselves! We had a small problem with one of the storm doors which was promptly fixed. We would recommend TKD Construction to all and would reuse them again!

The job was performed as promised, the work crews were well managed and professional.  The previous roof and gutters lasted only fifteen years, and we experienced several problems with both since they were installed back in 1999, so we were careful when selecting the contractor this time.  TKD identified all of the issues with the previous roof installation, and explained how they would do the installation.  As I observed the installation of both the roof and gutters, it was clear that TKD was doing a good job.  We have since had very heavy rainstorms and everything is working fine.  I was very satisifed with the information provided and the job when it was done.

Great!  They were very professional.  We were particularly impressed with the finish work they did on the outside of the house - wrapping the sills, etc. The style worked beautifully with what had existed previously.  We would happily work with them again.

Tom was great to deal with.  We had a few in person meetings prior to the work and Tom took the time to go over everything in detail. Throughout the process he was always very responsive and was proactive in keeping me up to speed on any developments.

As was expected with a project of this size, there were a few follow up items that needed to be taken care of and Tom made sure a few smaller items were redone to my satisfaction (even after he was already paid in full!)

While the cost of the job was a little bit of a shock to me, the other quotes I got were on par with TKD's and I'm more comfortable paying the money if I know a company will stand behind their work. Tom's willingness to spend quite a bit of time getting all the details of the initial quote worked out (about 4 times the amount of time the other companies spent) was an indication to me that he wouldn't just rush through the job and move on. This distinction won him the bid and I'm satisfied with my decision.

TKD will be getting a call on any future projects.
