After doing an amazing job remodeling our master suite in 2009, I enlisted Ron Iapicca and his team again in 2011 when I wanted to re-do the second full bath in our home. This was a 20 year old bathroom with a standing shower stall in green, matching single sink and commode. To say it was dated is an understatement. There was also green tile on the floors and wall. Ron's team removed all of the old fixtures, lighting and tile, as well as 'borrowed' space from an existing linen closet to allow for the installation of a large soaking tub. I purchase all my fixtures (tub, commode, sink, cabinetry) from Direct Buy. The job was done in a timely manner, as agreed upon in our quote. The bathroom was finished, painted and ready to use at the end of 3 weeks. As always, Ron and his team were friendly, professional and respectful of my home and my time. On top of that, one particular day we got a random Spring snow fall... about 1/2 a foot covered my driveway. Ron plowed the driveway for us before he came in to work on the bathroom that day. Talk about customer service! Certainly above and beyond, every time.
Description of Work: Completely gutted and renovated our second full bath, adding a soaking tub, double vanity and new flooring.

please see above for explanation. also, I waited an additional 10 days before filing this report just in case he might call but he has not. we did finally have a contractor from Winchester answer us and come to look at what needed to be done to repair. when we have our kitchen done, we will be calling him.
Description of Work: we live in the same town as Iapicca Construction. He had done extensive work for a neighbor, they couldn't say enough good things about him or his work. When I found him on this list, we decided to give him a call to help us. Our home had been hit by a car during the last snowstorm and we needed first, an estimate and then hopefully, a contractor to fix the hole in our house. I left a message on his machine--his answer clearly says he will call back. I explained in detail what we needed, leaving name, address and number. No response. Two days later, again I call. Leave a similar message but this time ask if this job is too small could he call and let me know so I won't keep calling him and looking for him to possibly stop by. Again, no response. It has now been almost two weeks, no calls. We were hopeful that he would contact us, I have a business built on the back of our home and I need some remodeling done, also four bedrooms that need extensive work. Would he have called me back knowing there were bigger jobs in the horizon? Was this job just too small to warrant a call back? Very sad times when contractors can not return a call. We won't call him again and when we have our kitchen done, we will not be calling him.

Response from Iapicca Construction
I apologize for not getting back to you in a timely manner. I have had some personal issues going on and haven't been able to focus 100% on my business. I have been in business for over 20 years and I have never had a customer give me a bad report. I was especially shocked to hear that a negative report was given especially when I have never worked for you or even talked to you.

Our new bath turned out amazing, and on schedule. When one of the painters failed to show up on the last day, Ron completed the painting touch ups himself. We have a GORGEOUS new bath that adds a tremendous amount of value to our property. We have custom locker shelving in our mudroom to help keep things clean and organized with the kids. And we have Ron to thank for all of it.
Description of Work: This was our second experience working with Ron Iapicca. The year prior, he remodeled our master bath and closet. I will post a review of that experience as well. Ron is a great guy; he is honest, hard working and truly a kind soul. There are no grey areas with Ron... he tells it like it is. If he gives you a time-line and a budget, you can count on him to stick with it. So refreshing. There were no surprises, no additional costs at the end. . We hired Ron to remodel our second full bath with many updates and a large soaking tub. This included integrating a hall closet, and building a custom set of 'lockers' for our mudroom where the old closet used to be. Work consisted of tearing out of old fixtures/bath units, tile and walls. The room was taken down to the studs. New electric was added, new plumbing was routed, new drywall installed as well as wall and floor tiles. All new bath fixtures (soaking tub, commode, double vanity, mirror, lighting, vent fan, etc) were installed. The final touch was painting the walls. I picked all the fixtures/tiles/design plan and laid it out for Ron. He showed up on the first day of work exactly on time and with a Starbucks Latte for me! That's what kind of guy Ron is! His sub-contractors were all trustworthy, friendly and considerate as well. Ron is local (Reading MA) and a solid family man. We were on vacation in March and our town got a horrific snow storm. Ron (who plows for the Town of Reading on the side) came and plowed out our driveway so our pregnant pet-sitter could get into the house. That's what kind of guy Ron is! No cutting corners, no mess left at the end of the work day, no hazy quotes... if you want a straight forward, honest contractor, I highly recommend Ron Iapicca. He might not be the cheapest guy around but in my experience, you get what you pay for. I will continue to use Ron (likely this winter, to finish our basement!) and recommend that you do, too.
