I wish I could give a lower rating than a one star for this store. We deeply regret patronizing Doyons. We went to them specifically to buy a gas stove because the sales person told us they have a full-time plumber who handles the gas hookup and would coordinate the plumbing work with the delivery. Well, they delivered the stove and took away the old one, as promised, in the morning. But then their plumber shows up two hours late. The guy basically walks into my house without introducing himself, no apologies for his tardiness and is very rude and disrespectful. About three minutes into the job he drills a hole in my kitchen floor hitting the electrical service saying "Gee, who would think that would happen". Again, no apologies, but now we have no electricity. I started to feel both very angry and very scared. If he is so careless with the drill I certainly didn't want him touching the gas in our house. My husband couldn't come home so I called the sales person at Doyons who sold us the stove and told him what was going on. He was non-committal but asked to speak with the plumber. Well, after the plumber replaced the wire he said "I'm outta here". I called Doyon's and was finally able to talk with Mike Doyon. I asked him to find us another plumber. He told me his plumber is the best and that everyone makes mistakes, insinuating that I had caused this problem. His tone was indifferent - he did not care. He refused to help me in any way, leaving us high and dry with no stove at 2 PM on the Friday before Memorial Day. In the past 3 months we've purchased a washing machine, a refrigerator and now this stove from Doyon's, but none of this seems to matter to them. They do not care about their customers, bottom line. We bought from them because we wanted to support a local business, but they don't deserve our business. I wish we had gone to a more reputable appliance store or one of the big box stores and gotten our own plumber.

We had problems with manufacturers' defects on a stainless cooktop hood that required multiple reorders of the hood and which finally resulted in changing to a different hood manufacturer. Mike took care of us and patiently worked with us to address the defects at his cost. We highly recommend them and we will patronize them in the future.

Having Doyon's service our Viking stove/oven was a great experience! How often do you feel that way about any service call?
We found Doyon's via an internet search for Viking appliance repair. We had a scheduled service call for the following Wednesday because we didn't feel the Viking stove that came with our newly purchased house was working well. This afternoon I received a call that they had a cancellation and could fit us within 30 minutes. I arrived at the house when their service person (Jerry) did.
Jerry was personable, polite, professional (all the 'p' words!) and really a joy to spend the afternoon with. He immediately got to work, taking apart each of the pieces, explaining to me what each did, if it was still available and how to clean and care for it. He also had great advice about baking with the stove and the nuances I might encounter. He correctly diagnosed the issue (Maytag part installed in a Viking oven) and corrected a few other situations he found. Worth the money and more to have it all explained to me - I feel much more comfortable with the appliance now. Jerry even took time to find the model and serial number and wrote it down for me and assured me if anything is wrong within the next 30 days, that they come out for free.
It has been a really long time since I have had such good service and attention to detail and have never experienced it from a large box store. You just won't find that level of expertise elsewhere. I will definitely be looking to them for our next appliance purchase even though Reading is not convenient to us; however, Jerry did inform me that they recently opened a store in Bedford, which is a bit closer.
I would highly recommend giving Doyon's a try. I'm shocked by the older negative reviews. I couldn't be happier (well if Jerry washed my windows as well, I might have been a bit happier...but it wasn't part of the service call).

We bought a washer dryer from Doyon's showroom. The salesman was a good salesman. The installers arrived promptly and installed the machines, removing the old ones, as agreed, but the washer had a defective power cord. They said they would report it to the office, and have the office call back. The office did not call back, so we called at the end of the day, and no one knew anything about it. We called the next day, and they knew about it, but whined about having to bring a cord in from Connecticut. We spoke to various people, including the owner, who seemed not to know what to do, or to care. Eventually my husband suggested they bring a power cord from one of the machines in the showroom, or he would be discussing the customer service while doing a load at a local public laundromat. That worked well, and the installer was here an hour later with a cord, but grumbling all the while.

They were unwilling to match the price I obtained at a major appliance retailer for the identical model number. I asked if they were able to lower their initial offering, but I was told that they could not sell it any lower. I was surprised by this response since their website FAQ advertises that they monitor prices from other retailers on a daily basis to make sure that they always give the customer the lowest possible price. It goes on to say that they live up to their slogan "committed to giving you the lowest possible price." I don't agree with that statement. I understand that they have a lower volume of sales than other stores and that their prices would typically be a bit higher. The price difference in this case however was approximately 33% higher. They carry premium products and the staff is typically knowledgeable and helpful. In addition, they appear to be able to deliver items pretty quickly. However, they are not the place to shop if you're interested in low prices. They don't advertise an explicit price matching guarantee, but their website would suggest that they try to remain competitive. I like to support small local businesses and have shopped here before, but I could not justify the significant price difference in this instance.

Theire retail prices are higher than other stores, but a coupon brought the price inline with other retailers... Salesman was very friendly and helpful. They did not charge for deliver since we live nearby. Delivered to our driveway on-time as promised.

They arranged for everything. Took extra time to show her many models. Did not try to convince her to buy something she did not need. After the selection was made, they arranged for delivery, removal and recycling of the old stove and the plumber who had to disconnect the old stove and come back to connect the new stove (Mass Plumbing Code required). They were great with my mom.

Bought the stove from Home Depot since unfortunately HD ended up being less expensive. This was a shame since Doyon's was a pleasure to deal with.
