I was so impressed by Jon's knowledge and professionalism I hired him twice. Jon first went to inspect a condo I was planning on purchasing, and due to his thorough work I made the decision to walk away. He found that the deck was rotting as well as many other issues which in the long term would have been a headache to deal with. My father (a mason) and friend (an electrician) were equally impressed as they observed him at work. Therefore, when I found another home to purchase I didn't hesitate to contact Jon again. Jon is willing to offer to write his report on the spot and email it to you if need be. He kept an objective perspective through out his work and was very fair in his pricing. I would highly recommend him for his honesty, professionalism, and expertise.

As he examined the entire property inside and out, Greg took the time to explain what he was looking for, what needed to be fixed, and what I should inspect down the road.  Following his inspection, he gave me a printed report on site with all of his findings.  I found Greg to be very knowledgeable and professional and was extremely satisfied with his work.

Despite the day starting with a torrential rainstorm, Gregory was on time and right to the task as scheduled. He was extremely detailed and very thorough. He was more than happy to explain all his findings, though he was cautious on the actual financial impact some of the findings could have. Only his report was a bit of a letdown.  It was poorly organized for an old house like this one. For example, the house had many different basements and crawlspaces, and problems were "lumped" together under a fixed section heading  such as "interior walls" - which made it difficult to sort thing out afterwards when working with a contractor. Also, the color coding of the types of findings where difficult to follow when it was all run together. For the money, I had hoped he would do some prioritization of the finding - biggest cost or most likely to fail highlighted first, on down to  some of the rather trivial health and safety /code violation (height of railings on porch, lack of hand rails on staircases, etc.)

It went smoothly and professionally throughout.
I really appreciated his walk-around with me while he explained the significance of each finding and possible alternatives.  His color-coded report details every single finding as well as its significance (such as safety versus energy efficiency). He even noticed that my recent basement French Drain project may have caused the radon level in my basement to change, so I did a radon test through him (an extra $80 on top of the $420 fee for my 9 room house).  He located spaces that mice had used to enter my house and even found old termite damage and taught me how to test to see if the termites had come back.  He is extraordinarily knowledgeable and very personable. The whole inspection, plus completion and delivery of his printed report took 3.5 hours.

He was very thorough and found some termite damage that led to our not buying the home. His report is a little difficult to follow though, especially if you make a photocopy because it is color-coded.  It does summarize the issues, which would be helpful when you are negotiating with the sellers. Super thorough though, and willing to take as much time as needed to do a good job and explain things to the buyer.
