Once he fixed a massive water leak, it was flooding my basement. After firing several people who tried to hustle me for thousands he came and fixed the leak for about $325.00 dollars. He also identified and fixed other issues that needed fixing as well. And a few months later one of these issues came to fruition. The water heater broke and needed to be replaced. So I called Steve and he was out of town. However, he recommended another reliable plumber to replace the heater in his absence and he was just as great. Steve is a plumber you can rely on for high quality work,  at a reasonable price, accompanied with many years of knowledge.

Steve and his team were great to work with.  I highly recommend them.

Steve has been out to my house a number of projects and he and his team have always been communicative, professional, friendly and clean. This last time he came out to replace a Waste King disposal that had been suffering from leaking issues since the day it had been installed (by another plumber) with an In-Sinkerator unit. 
Not only did he and his colleague take the time to lay out a tarp in our kitchen to keep the mess from the job, and their snowed up boots, to a minimum, but Steve took the time to explain ways that we can reduce the noise of the running disposal.
We've trusted Steve to handle big projects (like the re-plumbing of one of our bathrooms), and small (like an additional outdoor faucet). His expertise and genuine interest in the outcome will keep us loyal fans.

I was in a bind when my small leak turned into a fast dripping nightmare threatening the integrity of my marble floor. I called Stephen and although he did not answer, I left an urgent message and he called me back right away. He was in the area , so he came to see the leak soon after I called. He declared my situation urgent and said that he could come back to fix it that afternoon. I had to call the city to shut off the water in the meantime and its a good thing I called it in (per his instruction) an hour before expected arrival time because the shut off pipe was clogged and it took the city awhile to clear it out. As soon as they finished as promised Stephen arrived, he was able to fix the pipe in two hours time (or less). There was allot of work that needed to be administered because of the location of the pipe. Stephen raised the piping higher to avoid future complication and added a updated shut off lever to replace the old one. I could not be happier with the timely service that I received. I will definitely call him again if I ever need a plumber.

Stephen arrived along with the landscaper I hired to dig the trench needed for the plumbing. Once dug, Stephen and his team laid in all of the plumbing. He remained the entire day to see that the landscapers laid the dirt back in carefully as not to damage any of the new plumbing.
Because of the impending winter, Stephen needed to come back to complete the rough plumbing this past April. The rough plumbing is complete now and he moved out all of the fixtures he had placed temporarily (for lay-out purposes) for me so I could have other contractors come in to work. We are planning to have Stephen come back to connect all the fixtures once we have completed the finishing the building.
The experience with Stephen has been (and continues to be) a very positive one and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an honest and dedicated plumber.

He was fast and reasonably priced. He makes sure that it's done right. He is professional and friendly.

Victor was able to come out on short notice, and returned for a second day when the job on the 1st day ran too long. He was very friendly and worked hard, explained what was going on, and really stuck with the job when it ran into snags. It's been about a week now, and so far so good, no more leaks! I also had some phone consultations with Stephen, who has been great about getting back to me and also very friendly in helping me set things up. The price was fair, and I would definitely call them again in the future!

He was on time with two other men. They removed the old water heater and then put in the new very efficiently. I only wish they would have cleaned up the floor, which was a mess from the water heater breaking before they arrived.
Steve was very patient and helpful with educating me about the water heater.

.The house is 100 years old, with some challenging systems but Steve did an outstanding job. His pricing is reasonable and fair, he is courteous and easy to deal with, and performed all services in a timely manner. I highly recommend Steve Magee Plumbing and Heating.

We couldn't have asked for better service. They came Friday morning as scheduled, and promptly and efficiently removed our old toilets and installed the new ones, which were exactly what we had wanted. The installations were neat and professional; there was no indication that there had been a removal and new installation. (I had a previous bad experience elsewhere, in which the installation had been very poorly done.)
The drain in one bathtub had become completely blocked (I should have called for service sooner). They unblocked the drain and the tub is now clean as a whistle, and draining beautifully. I am very grateful.
They were not only professional and efficient, but were friendly and pleasant to work with. Everything was left neat and clean. The price was both fair and reasonable, and as we had discussed, even tho I felt clearing the drain was a more difficult task than they had anticipated. I cannot recommend Stephen Magee highly enough! My only regret is that they don't also handle electrical work and carpentry - I'd never call anyone else for anything!!!

Steve and team were pleasant, punctual, thorough, and professional. The plumbing on this project - from rough to finish to inspection - was absolutely perfect. I'd recommend him for anything from full remodels to minor fixes.

Our dryer died just before Christmas so we decided to replace both the washer and dryer. We contacted Stephen A. McGee based on a referral from a friend and he was very responsive. Since the washer and dryer would be delivered between Christmas and New Years and based on the type of work we wanted and the amount of time it would take to get it all done, compared to their open schedule at that time, Stephen and his associates hooked up the washer and dryer when it was delivered so that my wife could at least be able to wash and dry clothes for the kids/family in the meantime and scheduled the full day installation for moving of the pipework and ductwork to be done later and billed us when they came back. Compared to other plumbers we have encountered, Stephen is very professional and takes pride in his work.

Steve's fee for the sump pump was about $200 less than the other guy, and what can I say about a free emergency house call on a Sunday? That's unheard of! Steve is punctual, honest, and he does good work. I'm not sure where he's based; he had no problem coming to my place in South Boston.
