About 2 years ago we purchased a used Volvo XC90 for our kids first car. After 1 or 2 visits to the local Volvo dealer it quickly became apparent that the service at the dealer was VERY expensive and I was not always sure the car needed all the work they would try to sell me on. After 2 months something went wrong in the AWD system and the rear wheels were not getting power. The local Volvo dealer ( will remain un named - though they were in Dedham ) told us it needed a whole new gear assembly of some sort and the cost would be $3,500.00. I asked them if they were sure that it needed that and they said ABSOLUTELY. I then decided to get a second opinion and found Doug at West Quincy Motors. They specialized in Volvo and other foreign car service. I spoke to Doug and he said bring it over and he would take a look. He wound up telling me that all it was was a worn sleeve of some sort and he could repair it WITH VOLVO FACTORY NEW PARTS for $850.00. I contacted the Volvo dealer again just to hear what they would say and I asked them if it could be just that sleeve. The service manager insisted that was not the problem and that it needed the $3,500.00 assembly. I told him thanks but no thanks! Brought it into WQM and in 1 day Doug had the car back to us for under $1,000.00 working perfectly along with a synthetic oil change and other fluid replacements.. I would trust no one else to work on our Volvo.. They are fair and honest and do great work. Most recent experience was when my daughter BLEW THE ENGINE from not changing the oil! Doug found us a good used engine and replaced the blown motor. The car is back on the road and running great. WQM is the only place I will have work done on our car. If you have a Volvo, you owe it to yourself to give them a try. I'm glad we did.

They were excellent and that's an understatement. I used them for the whole life of my car after the warranty ran out and utnil I moved and bought a new car.
