We needed a new water pipe put in because the town would not change out our meter without it. Sean's crew did a great job and were very careful not to ruin my brick walkway. He just pulled out the old pipe and slid in the new one with disturbing the lawn or walkway, they fixed the sidewalk and swept up. Very efficient.

We had a sewer pipe that was blocked and needed to be replaced ASAP. Sean Farrell personally answered my frantic call within half an hour, late on a Friday afternoon. He came out to scope the job first thing on Saturday morning. On Monday morning, I received a clear quote for the work to be done. The price seemed fair based on another quote we received. All permits and police details were included in the price of the job--there were no hidden costs. The job was completed within one day. The team on the project was respectful and efficient, beginning their day promptly at 7 am. In the course of the work, the team repaired a small part of the sidewalk that had buckled adjacent to the area of the sewer line (not part of the original job), and went further into our yard to repair the pipe than predicted in the quote. Despite these additions to the original scope of work, the quoted price stood. Overall, the project was smooth from beginning to end. I would highly recommend Sean Farrell Excavation for the replacement of a sewer line.

Sean was extremely quick to come out and provide an estimate then went out of his way to do the work at a fair price (beat his own estimate and was very transparent). Sean and his team did an outstanding job with this project. They came on time as scheduled and made short work of my yard. It was remarkable to watch the excavator scoop out the broken pool as if it were nothing more than a bowl of soup! The operator of the machinery, James, was incredibly talented. He navigated the excavator around tricky areas, scooping out a large tree trunk that leaned partially on a detached garage without damaging a single thing in the process. (He even managed to save a little patch of peonies that I asked him to watch out for along the fence-line!) These guys know what they are doing, and they will get the job done. They seem to be a fairly busy company, so as a result, it did take a bit of time for Sean to initially get back to me after I first called. I had a sewer emergency at my house and Sean returned my call at 8pm or so right after I called him. He discussed my problem and timely showed up at my house the next morning to see my property. I hired Sean to do the work and his team was honestly amazing. Sean told me they would be at my house at 7am day of job (he worked his schedule around to get me in due to my emergency) and at 7am the doorbell rang. A thing of beauty! Sean arranged permits from town, coordinated police detail and gas company. I didnt have to do anything. The work itself was done efficiently and all interaction I had with the workers was extremely polite. Sean and team are what I dream all contractors should be like. 100% hire them. You will not be disappointed.

We hired SF after receiving a very fair estimate. They arrived on time and excavated the street and our front lawn and exposed the old pipe. All that took one working day. The next day they provided the copper pipe to the local Water and Sewer Dept. which laid the new line from the main in the street into our basement. Then SF connected the new line to our main in our basement. The water was turned back on and SF replaced the soil, repaved the street and paved the sidewalk. In all a beautiful job. All was finished by 3:00 day 2 which was the promised time to complete the job.

My dad had sewerage back up in basement from heavy rains and roots of trees growing through pipes. I called Sean and immediately he responded. He had me reach out and get a water camera image of pipes 1st. He explained the process thoroughly. Sean did not want to just come over and dig up unnecessary piping that would be costly. I followed his instructions and he was CORRECT!! The company he recommended flushed out miles of roots!!!!! Saved my dad a ton of money! I highly recommend him. He is honest and reliable!!!! They pulled the permits accordingly and the team was on time at the day of work. Three crewmen came out and worked really hard all day. We have been having the backup issues for a little bit over 2 years on and off and finally they helped us fixed it once in for all. Price was very reasonable. Besides, the crewmen did the pavement beautifully after they finished the job! Sean Farrell was very accommodating and prompt. The man who worked the heavy equipment was a master operator and conductor as he led the ream of laborers and drivers throughout the complex process We couldn't be more pleased. Specifics follow: What we needed: -Removal of pool, equipment and surrounding cement walkways. Complicated by being located directly behind the house. -Done in winter to lessen collateral damage and to ease maneuvering of heavy equipment. Also give more settling time before new patio installed. -We acted as our own general contractor. We provided plans, elevations, and did permitting for town. We sought a clean compacted fill so that the area could be buildable in the future. Decision to Remove: -We had lived in the home for 12 years, carefully maintaining the pool to keep the liner as long as possible, knowing that at 50 years, the pool would require a major renovation rather than a simple liner change. Our decision making process was over a 5 year period when we explored various options, and costs. -We finally decided to remove the pool, as although it had been so much fun, it was also a lot of work. Our daughters were off to college, and gave us a view of not having their help as they moved on! -we had noticed much less usage as they grew up and had jobs. -We wanted heat in the pool much more than we used to! Preparation: -We drained the pool in the winter! This is a balance between wanting it warm enough to stay liquid, but remaining cold enough for the actual excavation. We had to be able to get through the ice to get the pump in. As the water level went down, the ice broke up, but by the time it was at the deep end, it shredded the old liner, leaking water to the dirt below. This had to be scooped out by excavator to allow for proper compaction. -We also moved any pavers, gravel, or equipment that we could re-purpose. -The operator and driver came the afternoon before to assess the situation, and make their plans. Day of Demolition: -The trucks and team arrived early in the morning. They backed in our driveway expeditiously. They were never at the site all at once, but were rotating in and out at the situation required. -They first cut the cement slabs surrounding the pool coping. This was the messiest part of job and required our garden hose and water to keep saw cool, and dust down. -The team was well orchestrated without wasted steps. -The pool debris was placed on the shallow end to allow the fill to be dumped and compacted in the deep end, and then the dump truck was filled with the debris. The clean fill was mixed with the sand that had surrounded the pool. This process was repeated many times during the day. -The resulting gravel pad mimics the dimensions of our soon to be installed patio.

Sean came to my house within 20 minutes of a emergency phone call. He made arrangements within 15 minutes to have emergency street opening, police detail, and rescheduled his crew for my job to start at 7 A.M. the next morning. I couldn't believe it! He was a life saver, and I have given his name and number to everyone I know who might need excavation work in the future. He is such a nice man and I will never forget what he did for me. We were very pleased. We decided to replace a 100 year old water main from the street to our house Brookline, and used Farrell because they were doing work a few houses away, and the contractor recommended them.. Because of our vacation, we had to schedule the work for the last week in October, which put them in a tight schedule, as the Town prohibits excavation after November 1. To make matters more difficult, Mark Wahlberg picked our already congested street for filming scenes for Wonderland at the same time, compressing the window for work to 1 rather than 2 days as is normal. But they did the work in one day, and coordinated with the Town. The workers were polite and efficient; this is not easy work. In addition, Neumar (the carpenter used by Farrell) afterwards did a wonderful job restoring a built in bench in the basement that had to be demolished for the water line work. He was nice, skilled, and very easy to deal with.

Sean Farrell Excavators, Inc. did a fine job replacing our water line. The work crews were punctual, courteous, very professional and respectful of our property. Despite the tight quarters that they operated in, their expertise with such matters made for a very satisfactory result. The crews did a fine job of restoring our fence, which was partially disassembled. Also, they reconstructed our walkway, under which the water line ran. They were careful to restore and clean our neighbor's driveway, which provided access to our property for their work. Mr Farrell did what he stated initially and in a reasonable time frame. Sean Farrell Excavators, Inc comes well recommended by this customer.

It went well. The trench they dug only needed to extend halfway from the street to the house, minimizing disruption of the lawn and avoiding disturbing the front porch. They were able to pull the remainder of the disintegrated pipe in through the basement wall and replace it. The quality of their work was excellent, they repaired the lawn damage and constructed a new sidewalk section. I would recommend them for any similar job.

The job went great! In replacing our water main, there was lawn, rose bushes and fence all in the project path. I expected our yard to be left a total disaster. Sean Farrell’s team worked carefully to preserve our grass, carefully remove and replace our fence, and they even dug up and replanted the thorny rose bush! Most contractors would have cut it down and told us to cut our losses, but they were so careful and considerate you wouldn’t even know we had work done. To top it off, they were prompt and completed the job on time, on budget and pulled appropriate permits.
