We hired Ray to install a lawn meter (a second water meter for your home that is used to calculate the amount of water you use for watering your lawn and other outside uses -- this water is cheaper to use since they do not calculate sewage usage with it so your water bills are less). Ray did the job in a few hours and we were very happy with the work. He needed to do a little running around with the city in order to get a permit for the job and that was helpful to me. The city inspector had no complaints about Ray's work -- approved the installation in less than two minutes.
Ray also replaced an old faucet outside the house.
Both jobs turned out great. Ray does very good work, is reliable and works quickly.
I would highly recommend Ray to anyone who is looking for a dependable, affordable plumber. We will definitely call Ray Coughlan the next time we need any kind of plumbing work.

Ray came by at 9:30 in the morning and was finished by 1:30. He is the utmost professional. He did all of this work for the price of 1000.00. The new water heaters do not come with feet so he brought a concrete block/slab and elevated the water heater. He also took away the old one. His work is of the highest quality and I highly recommend him.

I have used him in the past. He initially proposed to repair the sinks to help save money however we found it just was not repairable - the sink was quite old and not repairable. He handled problems well that arouse during the process. He was very kind and accomodating to my schedule at a time when my husband was ill. He gave good advice at trying to keep the cost low for me.

Everything went excellent! As mentioned, we will continue to use Ray for all our plumbing needs.

Please see above about the most recent work. Then, as with other times I've called him, Ray was very responsive, arranging to come quickly when that was warranted (including on weekends), and showing up when he said he would. He has great integrity -- he has several times said certain work I asked about wasn't needed (such as installing a sump pump) and/or suggested trying a small fix for something and only moved on to a bigger, costier repair/ replacement if that proved necessary. He has charged quite reasonable prices. His work has been solid, and has stood up well over time. We haven't any experience with large plumbing projects but at least for the sorts of small/ medium jobs we've done, we highly recommend Ray as reliable, trustworthy, careful, competent, and responsive.

Overall it went well. He was prompt and available. He was professional and respectful, and did the job without much mess. Two things I wish had gone differently: 1) the water heater we replaced was sitting up on a piece of concrete block, which Ray removed. The new heater now sits on the basement floor, which puts it in the way of any water that should come through our basement due to flooding. 2) Given the rushed nature of the job (i.e. we needed the heater replaced ASAP) we were not able to shop around for the most efficient water heater. Overall though, I would not hesitate to call Ray back if needed.

He came to the house and gave an estimate. He returned at the agreed upon time. He purchased and brought the necessary parts with him. Ray was efficient, pleasant and on time. He listened and responded positively to our questions and concerns.

Our upstairs bathroom was circa 1950. Ray did all the buying, installed a special tub with spout in the middle so two people can use it. When the shower valve leaked he took care of everything including getting the new one shipped to us. The sink was also a special order made from a piece of granite and dropped in with all nickel hardware. For the brand new 1/2 bath he ran the pipe under the house to the sink and toilet. He has fixed our furnace a couple times. Always returns calls, comes when he says he will (same day when the heat was down), cleans up and is totally pleasant.
