MRW Masonry Restoration & Waterproofing

I searched for a very long time for a mason to resolve some water issues in an addition to a South End brownstone. Patrick was exceptionally professional and responsive. He was knowledgeable and explained where he thought the water was coming from, and how to fix the issue. The job ended up being much larger than expected, and he was able to use his professional resources to recommend additional work to fix our issue. He made sure that the job was done to perfection, and even came back for some touch-up work himself. I am very happy with the work that was completed. Very professional and honest; fair pricing. We will be using his services again in the future to restore the façade of our building.

Patrick and his team did a great job installing a freestanding fieldstone wall and stone endpost at the end of our driveway along the sidewalk. It completely beautified our yard.

We recently bought a 100 year old brick house in Needham and the brickwork was in bad shape. Patrick and his crew repointed the house and replaced 4 lintels. I had other companies come over to give me estimates and Patrick was the only one who honestly told me which lintels needed to be replaced and which still had life left in them. Other companies tried to get me to replace most of them, which is extremely expensive. It was clear that Patrick knows a lot about masonry. Patrick and his crew did a great job, they were always on time, keep the work area tidy, and Patrick is a very good communicator. My husband can be a bit of a perfectionist and Patrick was very patient and willing to make sure we loved every detail. MRW also repaired some of our old stone walls (which was a last minute add-on) and did it in a timely manner. Overall, we are very happy with MRW. Patrick is skilled, fair, responsible, professional and a pleasure to work with. We look forward to working with him again in the future!

We are so happy we found Patrick! We interviewed and dealt with many masonry companies as we had a lot of foundation/basement issues (water leakage, bowing walls, etc.). He is the only person we will EVER work with in the future. He repointed our entire basement (~950sq ft), installed permanent lally column, and did some work outside as well to prevent water leakage to the basement. The entire work was done in about 1 week. His team is amazing as well - all are very respectful, professional and responsive. He will honestly tell you what really has to be done and what can wait until later. Patrick will be on site even over the weekend to finish the project or make sure everything is done to perfection. Just a pleasure to work with! Highly highly recommend him and his crew!

The work that he did can be very dirty and dusty, but he was very neat and clean. There wasn't a single spec of dirty anywhere.

The work was very well done, and they only took two days to perform the repairs. And the price was extremely fair. When one section needed less work than we originally thought, they adjusted the price to reflect that. We are very happy with the results!

Excellent. We have used Patrick and his team before for a compex masonary work. He has finished the work within few days with great professionalism. We have hired him again for repointing of stone steps and he did the work with great accuracy. He is very pleasent to chat with, very knowledgable and graciously answers any questions asked regarding masonary work. We also had water leakage in the garage and he made time to comeand adviced me to follow certain steps in order to prevent water coming in without any charge.

Called MRW this past winter for an estimate for repointing, a cracked lintel replacement and a chimney rebuild for our historic home in Beacon Hill. Patrick the owner provided a well priced proposal for the spring. We scheduled a start date in May, he called a week in advance to confirm we were ready and showed up as promised. The on street scaffolding protected pedestrians, was well marked with safety tape etc.. Each day the work area was swept clean and the job proceeded to completion without interruption. The attention to detail including matching replaced stone and antique brick was what we had hoped for. After completion the final wash brought out the beauty of the 200 year old brick. Could not be more pleased with the work that was done for us by MRW. Patrick and his assistant are true craftsman of their trade.

Communication with MRW was great every step of the way. It really helped take any uncertainty out of the project. There was a quick turn around on scheduling and receiving the estimate and the price was fair. Patrick, the owner, was honest and very professional. They showed up early to work each day so they were able to finish a little ahead of schedule. Even though this was a smaller job I felt like I was getting their full attention. My basement flooded on the middle of redoing it. He came iwithin a day of me calling him. Exceeded my expectations! Did the job in more than timely manner, quality work. Left the place cleaner than any other person I've hired in the past. And a very fair honest price. Very professional. Then came back and did a small job and didn't charge me!

Over the years the mortar had deteriorated and water had seeped in-between the bricks. During the winter time, the water would freeze and cause our bricks to break. Patrick went in and removed the broken bricks and repaired the seams to ensure water wouldn't continue to seep between the bricks. The front steps now look great! Patrick kept on schedule and always kept a tidy work site and cleaned up afterwards. We plan on hiring him for another project later this winter.

Patrick and his team were great. We were very pleased with how the projects came out. The projects were very difficult and the weather did not cooperate at all, so MRW had to come back many times to complete the projects. They came when they said they would, they worked hard, and they cleaned up the sites before they left for the day. Despite the difficulty and frustration, they were always kind, professional and a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely use them again, and strongly recommend them to others.
