This went extremely well. The goal was to do the entire install in time with a massive remodel of a two family converted to a single family. There were previously two boilers in the basement with two separate iron steam radiator systems. We got rid of all iron and boilers, and Dan put a huge furnace in our attic and then worked with the GC and the architectural plans to design the optimal system and layout for all registers and returns to maximize heat/cool zones while hiding all ducts and pass-throughs inside closets and walls during the remodel. These guys work tirelessly to get things right, from tons of site visits and work to get the right venting and angled components in place to some tweaks and adjustments that were HUGE - for example: Dan was able to siphon off a 60cfm to a sun room that was insulated to create a newly heated/cooled bedroom (from a 3 season room) - the value of this alone in our town exceeds the cost of the whole job! He also ran a tiny heat tube into the mudroom to break the freeze in there (huge bonus, also runs a/c) He and his team are excellent, and his personality is great and he's a pleasure to interact with and deal with, particularly since it can be stressful when people are ripping open your ceilings and doing all sorts of crazy stuff. I had such a great experience during the process that I referred him to my mom and she had him overhaul her whole system down in Cape Cod (which had horrible distribution of heat/cool zones in a 80's set up). He absolutely knows his stuff, from the optimal systems for hot/cold to ideal placement and directions of venting and zones. And yes, just like in those "holmes inspections" shows on HGTV, they use heat tape to seal everything, and all vents/pipes are locked in tight wiht no kinks or disruptions.
Description of Work: Dan completely replaced an old iron radiator double boiler system with a state of the art 95%+ efficient dual zone heating and air conditioning system in a circa 100 year old house. The GC was responsible for radiator removal, but Dan and his team built the entire system in during a massive renovation.
