I recently moved and called around to get estimates on moving a laundry room and opening up a stairway. When Desmond came out the news was bad. All the wiring and plumbing was bad behind paneling and the back foundation was caving in. So much for home inspections. Desmond was wonderful about it all and worked with me to figure out the best way to bring things up to code and make them safe. He was at the house every day but Sundays for 6 weeks now and will be done the end of this week. He stuck to budget, talked to me everyday and then some and was kind and patient as I adjusted to the realities. The work was complex and has all been done really well. They even shoveled my driveway for me.
The majority of the work took about 6 weeks to complete.  There were delays in the final stuff that needed to be done because it was outside and winter just would not stop this year.  But they came back as soon as the snow and freezing temperatures stopped.  They fixed the gutters and poured the outside concrete as soon as they were able. 
The final product is wonderful.  I love the way it looks and all of the problems with the house were solved in a complete and efficient way.  The carpentry is beautiful.  I could not be happier with the experience or the final product. 
I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat.

Mr. Roland did an excellent job of balancing the existing conditions with the intended improvements. When conditions impacted the plans, he let the dust settle long enough to resolve the situation. In the end the overall effect of the renovation stayed true to the original vision. He provided wise guidance and sensibly handled the problems that arose during a partial gut rehab, and the project wouldn't have turned out so well with him.
