Love Dr. Looney! She was always very good with my birds, and it isn't easy finding a good vet that sees birds! She's my favorite over any other vet I've been to. Very caring and gentle, plus the cost was always lower compared to other vets. I took my medium size parrot there for nail and beak trims regularly, and I just love how my birds were handled and cared for while there. Also, most bloodwork done on birds requires a needle into the vein in the back of their neck, which scared me, so Dr. Looney was willing to try getting blood from a nail, even though it was likely they may not get enough blood that way, she still tried for me and ended up working fine! Another vet I went to was not willing to do this as there is a small risk of contamination. Only bad thing is Dr. Looney is not there much, only a couple of days a week I think, but she is amazing with birds/parrots!!! I have since moved from the Pittsfield area, but drove all the way back there because she's the best!

We discussed the problem by telephone; I was given directions to the facility and re-assured that the vet on duty was experienced taking care of rabbits. Potential costs were reviewed by telephone and early on in the treatment plan so that I had some idea what the expense would be. My bunny was examined, treatment options explained including cost, risk, expected outcome and recommended treatment. Once decision was made, the vet repaired the area, gave me verbal and written home care instructions, complications to look for and call back phone numbers. The vet and tech allowed me to be in the treatment area and explained what they were doing and why.

The veterinarians there are very knowledgeable. They have very good bedside manner with the animals. We have a couple of Thai animals, but they are very well with them even if they have to take blood from each of them. They also take their time to discuss each animal's health. I can always ask the duty veterinary officer. They have a very comfortable sitting area. They will greet them when they come in and they are handled professionally and promptly. They do a very nice job. I like them very much. They are very communicative. I think they have always been on time. They are very good guys are very professional. I will continue to use them in the future.
