The windows work okay but it was his carpentry which was not that great. He wanted to charge me extra. It was Bill Lambert. He did have a father who was an electrician. I have not experienced his father at all so I have no idea. It sounds like that the company has either changed or he started a new thing with his dad. I think he hired maybe a friend of his or something to help out putting the windows. Honestly I didn't feel that negatively about him. They put in the windows and they worked. They finished carpentry and left something to be desired. I pretty much got what I paid for. If I had to do it again, I would spend a little bit more money and hire the Pella installer to do the work. His finished carpentry was not great and a couple of nails sticking out here and there, and the woodwork did not match up from floor to ceiling. It wasn't a big deal but it was definitely not good finished carpentry. He stopped returning my phone calls. His finished carpentry was basically the only problem I had with him. I would not hire him or suggest him to anybody. It ended up being a little of extra painting and he added structural window sills, and they were columns in the basement that were kind of rusting and he just replaced them. They are columns that support the main beams and he used a temporary column to hold the beam up while he takes the old one down and replaces them with new ones. He added extra money onto his quote for the stuff that he didn't realize he was going to have to do for the windows so I could argue that he didn’t ponder the original estimate. He added about $1500. I am not opposed to paying extra for work when I get into something that I don’t understand. It is just an estimate which is what it is going to cost no matter what. I think he was trying very hard to be upfront about it, he quickly realized that I was going to be more picky than most that he has dealt with. He was trying to get out of there as quickly as he could. He didn’t do a terrible job but just didn't do a good job. I don't know if I would go back to him.
