I had a previous diagnosis ($85.00) that took a week to find out that a "Motherboard" was needed and that would be an additional $500.00 or more to repair. After Micah and Paul's diagnosis, I called VISA to cancel the $85.00 fee and started that process. After wasting a week without the laptop, going back to the "first PC repair shop" to explain they got caught putting the screws to me, they refused to return the $85.00 fee, (they tried to negotiate a new deal). With the BAD reviews that are coming their way from me, how much did they really profit ???? Lesson learned... DON'T waste a week, spend $85.00 for nothing, get a phony diagnosis and many hours of your time trying to recoup your $85.00. Call Paul, find the problem, get it back working right and fast. Five stars plus (even from his vacation) !!!!

Paul is very patient and is a good listener. At his office, I explained the problems I was having and brought in my CPU. We went over each problem. He explained what was necessary and why. I left and he completed the long process of replacing the operating system, which required work on the hardwear. Later, he completed the set up process remotely, while communicating with me and explaining each step. His service was prompt, reasonably priced, and effective. He is reliable and accessible. I had used his services before on some minor issues and will continue to use them whenever a problem may arise.

Investigated approx ten possible reasons for problem, in order of increasing pain of repair implementation, explaining as he went.  Finally had to re-install operating system. Note that Paul returned a phone call on a Sunday and had me bring the machine in the next day.  He went to work immediately upon my arrival.  Very responsive.

"I called the member the day after job was done as a follow up (they did not respond). Follow-up is standard procedure at my company. I was not aware that they were having a problem. If I had been aware , I would have acted immediately. I have a perfect reputation in my industry. It is my impression that these people are the type that, no matter what the situation is, they will find fault. After reading their false review, I tried, one more time to telephone the member and was hung up on. I urge members, before making a choice to hire a computer repair specialist, that they look at all of my reviews, on Angie's list and on other listings. Thank You, Paul Rosen"

   I contacted Paul after finding him on Angie's List. My computer had become slow, and I had a number of warning messages and other specific problems. I was also concerned about the Microsoft announcement that as of April 8 they would no longer "support" WindowsXP, the opreating system I was running.
   Paul explained the XP issue, then proceeded, by remote connection, to cure each of the problems I had (some of which I was not aware of). By telephone, he explained each of the problems he found, how they occurred and how he was addressing them. He was patient and friendly. I stayed on the line for about 25 minutes as he talked me through the steps he was taking, made recommendations for procedures I should follow and did extra things like creating a short cut for "defragging" so as to maximize my available RAM memory. He also added an icon for this to my desktop. At that point we hung up and he proceeded over the next hour or so to complete the cleanup, deleting unused and unnessary programs. When he was finished he called me back and we reviewed what he had done. The increased speed of my computer was obvious. 
 
   I also called him the next day with some additional concerns, which he also resolved. He also talked me through  the download and installation of anti-virus software
   Paul's rates are very reasonable, and he was genuinely concerned that I understood how to avoid future problems. He was not rushed or pressured. I actually enjoyed the process and learned a great deal of useful information.

Paul was a lucky find! I had been unable to reach my regular tech-support person over a period of weeks. Meanwhile, worrisome messages, mainly "IE has stopped working," were cropping up on my PC with increasing frequency, causing freezing, closing of webpages, etc. I ran across Paul's ad in a Google search. He arranged a remote session with me for a couple of days later, despite it having been a holiday weekend. I stayed online during the process and was impressed with how many useless/antiquated programs(some of which were evidently hazardous to the health of my PC) that Paul was able to identify. He has a straightforward, interactive communication style; I found him easy to talk to and a ready source of helpful suggestions regarding backup, virus protection, preferred browser, and other topics. His breadth of knowledge and expertise are evident.
