Len Gibely Contracting

I upgraded my review of Len Gibely after calling their office re-guarding the delay in my estimate of work. They were very professional and took full responsibility for the oversight. I have upgraded my review based on their dealing with this matter. Will upgrade again after work is performed.

Overall I am pleased with the gutter installation. Our house is close to the neighbors and everyone that quoted me said that we wouldn't be able to add gutters to the portion closest to the neighbors house. When the workers came they figured out a way to do it and I was able to have the entire house covered, albeit at additional expense. They were professional and courteous, even dealing with some unexpected bees nests. The whole installation took two days because it started to thunderstorm, which I don't begrudge them. I only have one minor complaint and they fixed it very quickly The gutters were not pitched correctly on one side of my house so water was flowing to only one of the two downspouts. I called them the next day after it rained and they sent a team out the next week to fix the issue. Great response on a mishandled installation. They had pitched them first but due to the angles the water didn't flow properly. When they came back they fixed it and did a water test on them to check that everything flowed properly. The quality of the materials was great, proper attachments and .32 gauge aluminium. Gutter guards seem to be working as well as I have a number of trees already losing their leaves right over our roof. It did take about 4 weeks after the down payment for them to come out, but I imagine the middle of summer is busy for a roofing company. I definitely plan on calling them again when I need more roofing work.

They were excellent. I would give A across the board. I was very pleased with them. I would use them again.

The door frame was very shotty and didn’t hold the door in place. That was resolved All the window sills are cracked on the side of the house and water is coming in. They are not responding to my request to fix it. When they come to fix it, I am not aware, therefor not there to let them in. They supposedly fixed all of them, but actually fixed part of them. They never fixed the original problem. And they used poor quality scrap wood.

Great job by all involved! They removed old roof replaced with 3D architectural shingles and new gutters. All done in less than 2 days! Very clean and organized!

Gibley was the 3rd contractor I contacted after the first two unprofessionally, I might add, offered to take the job and then never showed/responded. I get if the job is too small, but communicate that to the potential client. The responsiveness and willing to do a number of tasks by Gibley was a godsend. I am giving them a B for responsiveness as I did place a call regarding the roof heater cables which was never returned. We also had to wait a very long time for the work to be scheduled, but I understand this is a busy time for them and this was a half a day job. When the two men showed up they plowed right through the tasks on what was a very humid and hot day. There were a few things which really impressed me: 1) The down spout relocation was done to retain the integrity of our retaining wall. They made a last minute change and then gave me a walk through to confirm I was ok with the change. 2) I wish I had gotten their names, but the bigger of the two workers took the time to go through everything they had done. They had packed up most of their tools and ladders when I recalled a gutter drainage issue which was resulting in the washing out of mulch. He immediately knew the root cause of the problem and they fixed it right on the spot. 3) Lastly, they pointed out other issue which should be remedied. Two oaks trees overhanging the house and displacing shingles. All in all I was extremely pleased with their services and will be using them again.

Excellent contractor, from estimate to completion. Estimator (Jeff) offered competitive price and honest advice for the job. In my case, he mentioned that some old roof planks might need to be replaced, and provided the price per linear foot. There is NO massive change order or hidden cost. The guys who removed and installed the roof took time to protect surround structure from damage. They did a great job cleaning up. Thank you

This is a follow up to my review on June 18, 2014. Brian called quickly after my earlier review to discuss my comment about them not calling back concerning some leaking around the gutters. He had tried to find a record of my call and could not do so , but he wished to respond to our concerns. He sent a representative out promptly. That person sealed the area which he thought was thr problem and told me to contact them if that repair did not solve the problem. Since the rainstorm this week was in the early moring hours we were unable to verify if the problem is solved, but Brian called to check on the repair and reiterated that we shpuld contact him if we needed them to come out again. We are most appreciatve of Brian's desire to provide good service and we will definitely recommend the company to others.

Brian returned our first call very quickly, set up an appointment at our convenience and provided a quote at the appointment. Nice attention to detail, suggested bronze color strip at edge instead of aluminum due to house color. We were given a time frame for completion of job, and all went as promised. Did a great job on clean up, and price was as quoted.

First they did a temp repair on a wind-damaged area within hours of our first call for a modest fee, carrying us through until the whole roof could be done. Brian was very patient in coming back a couple of times to expand the job scope and revise his estimate. The whole roof took a bit longer than estimated, instead of 1 day it took another 4 hours or so on a 2nd day. They sent a swarm of guys who were surprisingly friendly and professional. The quality of their work is excellent, every bit of rotted wood or trim was replaced at reasonable cost and . They gave special attention to joints between roof & chimneys. The crew was polite and hardworking and seemed quite trustworthy. Our only complaint was a bit of trivial stuff left behind - rubber bands, a piece of watermelon rind, a hand tool. But none of our many plants were damaged, and the roof looks great. Brian was very clear and quite knowledgeable about what would be done and how, and the job foreman Jeff was great, accommodating and communicating clearly. We definitely recommend these guys most highly. Serious pros!

The staff at Len Gibely were very communicative through out the process from the first phone call. Jeff came out and looked at my roof and was very honest be telling me I only needed half the roof done, the other half was fine, someone else may have told me I needed a whole new roof. I asked him after he had already submitted the bid to take out a woodstove pipe on the other roof and they did it for minimal added cost and when you look at the combination of old roof and new roof, you cannot see a difference, that's how well they matched up the tiles. My yard is completely clean as you would never know that I just had a new partial roof put on. I have already referred them to friends and family.

The job was done on time and it was done well. Brian was on site part of the time and his foreman Jeff was very responsive to requests and questions. The job was completed in one day with full clean up.

The job went very well. We were impressed with the professionalism, attention to detail, quality of work and clean-up, and that it was all done in one day. We knew a new roof was a necessity, but we did not realize that it would also be so appealing aesthetically. Our roof is steeply pitched in the back and is highly visible from the back yard. It looks fabulous. We would highly recommend this company for a new roof.

We had big problem! A 20 year old roof that was missing shingles and rotted rake and trim boards. Also, missing clapboards on the house, some rotted windowsills and a major rot/carpenter ant problem around our garage doors. We contacted Len Gibely after reading great reviews and seeing the variety of services they offered. They did not disappoint! Brian (owner) responded almost immediately to my request for a quote. He spent quite a bit of time and was very patient answering all questions. He wrote up an estimate that day. I contacted him in mid November and after getting a few more bids, I called on Dec 2nd to let him know we would like his company to do the job. He came back and , again answered all questions and brought sample boards of shingles. He explained they were committed to some jobs and their schedule is very weather dependent,he thought they could start in early January. Between snow and cold, the job was actually started on March 7,2014, we had been contacted apologizing for the delay.Between the snow and cold, I was surprised they could do it then, our yard was snow covered, snow was still on our roof. The carpenters started first on the garage, Scott (foreman) and John were friendly, pleasant to deal with and extremely particular about their work. Justin replaced clapboards and other trim boards around the house. The garage ended up being a much bigger job than anticipated, they actually re-built the garage door wall from the ground to three quarters of the way up, new studs, Tyvek,clapboards, trim boards etc. They found an ant nest, and explained certain problems that existed due to poor construction when the house was built. We also had them replace our front steps with composite decking, this was not included in the original estimate. When the roofing crew showed up on the second day, Jeff (foreman) explained they would be shoveling the roof, tarps would be going up and they would be cleaning up any mess everyday when they were done. Brian came everyday to check in with Scott and Jeff and discuss any new details with me. Scott came and worked a full day on a Saturday when the garage repair became extensive and Jeff did as well, to work on the roof. They were great at explaining what they were doing and why. Gutters were re-aligned, that had been installed incorrectly, most of a window frame was replaced and some other trim that was rotted. Some things were added as new issues were found but, I was asked about everything. In the end, our garage looks great and we love the look of our new roof. The only reason for B grade on price is it was expensive. That said, I do feel you get what you pay for, we don't have a basic pitched roof. We have gables, dormers, farmer's porch and lots of nooks and crannies. We had gotten cheaper quotes for the roof only but, the repairs were so involved, I could not imagine trying to co-ordinate a separate roofer and carpenter. They were meticulous about their work and clean-up. Snow and ice were still around the house, these guys were trying to pick nails out of snowbanks! Brian told me to call once they snow melted and they will come back for a final clean-up. He also had a window screen replaced that had been damaged. We are very satisfied and pleased with the work.

This company is actually the same company that installed my roof, so it was great! The scheduling was simple, they arrived within 24 hours, and they've done a good job without damaging the roof and gutters. They've also been very responsive to some issues with the siding that they noticed while completing the job.

They were excellent. They return calls quickly. They provided a quick estimate and a quick turn on time to get out of the house and do the estimate. The estimate is extremely reasonable. It was completed and done fast, everything went well. They were very professional and I was very pleased.

Will file an up dated report once the work is done.

The initial visit was timely and the manager who did the estimate was professional and pleasant. There were no surprises at all when the work was done. They also kept the paperwork and said that they would deal with the manufacturer if there were any problems. I appreciated that. The carpenter who installed the door was capable and did a very good job overall. We did need to work together to resolve an issue with the self storing screen in the storm, but all went well in the end. The door is tight and looks good. The only area of service that needed great improvement with our job was communication about the start date. They gave me a tentative time frame of 6 weeks. At the end of 5 I called the office and a very nice person said they had no info at the moment. Just past 6 weeks, the construction manager called, said the door was in and gave me one date a couple of weeks off when they could complete the work. I would have liked ongoing communication with a few choices, and closer to the time frame promised. Of course we had a snowstorm on the promised date and they couldn't work because they needed to be outside for a good part of the job. They promised to arrive the following Monday. Snow was forecast again, and nobody called to say if they would arrive. However, when I called the office early on the scheduled date, they confirmed. The carpenter who was with us for the day was prompt and did a very good job. The construction manager came to insure that all was going well. Len Gibely is a very good company, and we would definitely use them again. The staff (office and carpentry) is pleasant and proficient.

They were terrific! Came right on time, did the work quickly. Fixed what needed fixing. What more can you ask for?

Work was completed as scheduled, very professional workers. Cleaned up and removed all debris. Very pleased with the experience.

Called Gibley and we were happy that someone live was there to pickup the phone. They sent somebody out the same day to give us an estimate to remove snow and ice dams from our roof and gutters. They dropped the heavy snow off the roof, carefully made wedges in the ice and then proceeded to clean up the snow that they dropped to the ground. Very prompt service and almost immediately stopped our leak. I have used in the past and highly recommend these guys! Thanks!
