One of my buildings in Lynn was damaged by hurricane Sandy.  Siding was ripped off one side and the flat roof was damaged.  Dan provided estimates to replace the siding, roof and damaged aluminum on the roof line.  I solicited three quotes from contractors and decided on Dan's company to replace the siding.  He was easy to work with, professional and was fully aware of the insurance process.  His guys were in an out in 3 days with no issues.  I anticipate using Dan's company again to replace the roof in the Spring.

Dan was by far the most professional and most responsive contractor we met with when we got estimates on the work.  He was very respectful of our wishes and needs, but also gave some great ideas and advice that we would not have thought of (e.g., masonite doors and synthetic, recycled balcony materials instead of wood, etc.).  We were doing the work prior to moving into the house and wanted as compressed a timeframe as possible.  Dan and his team worked incredibly hard to get us into our home quickly, and he staged the work to make sure that the maximum livable area was done as early as possible so we could move into the first floor of the house while they finished the second floor renovations.  In fact, they finished both floors at the same time and just left the exterior work to the end so that we were able to move in entirely all at once, which was fantastic!  The window and skylight work was impeccable - they look gorgeous.  The painting was beautiful but there were a few small patches that needed to be recoated - and Dan's painter came out immediately to fix those spots up.  Dan also pointed out some things we might want to do in the future to make the place look even better (e.g., replacing certain extra parts of the exterior trim) but never pressured us to do any of it.
In such a large job, there are inevitably pitfalls and problems, but Dan handled them with ease and ALWAYS tried to do right by us.  For example, when the balcony mentioned above turned out to need to be entirely ripped out rather than repaired, Dan gave us several options ranging from very simple solutions that would save us money over his original estimate to more expansive solutions that would add costs but fix the problem more in line with our original plans.  He was very flexible about which path we took, and very supportive of our goals.  When an error occurred with the windows he ordered, he made  good on that for us, too.   We were extremely impressed by that.

We had an excellent experience with DSD from start to finish. We found the contractor, Dan Davison, to be extremely responsive, knowledgeable and professional. We obtained several bids to do this work on our home. We chose DSD because, in addition to having one of the lower bids, we were impressed with Dan's professionalism and his company's work online. He provided an extensive list of references and everyone we contacted recommended him highly. Dan and his crew arrived on time every day and worked hard all day long. They completed the entire project 1 week ahead of schedule (it took less than a month). Dan and his crew were also quite pleasant and very respectful of our family - they always cleaned up at the end of each day and kept us as comfortable as possible while various rooms were under construction. We were very impressed with Dan's professionalism in dealing with any issues that arose. There were a couple of personnel situations that came up during this project, which Dan took care of promptly and effectively. Basically, he was very proactive, thereby ensuring the issues did not become our problem. Finally, the quality of the work on our home was excellent. We are extremely happy with the results. Overall, DSD Enterprises is an excellent company that is well-managed and does great work. Dan knows his business extremely well and is very easy to work with. We would definitly use him again in the future, and we highly recommend DSD to anyone looking to do any type of home remodel.

We bought a fixer upper in Marblehead, MA and we wanted to completely "greenovate" the place or renovate it with all green, eco-friendly materials. Dan showed up for our initial meeting with research he had already completed on materials to use on the project. He had spoken with his contact at the lumber yard about FSC certified wood. He also had done research on eco-friendly tile for the bathrooms. This proactive, can-do approach really sums up the wonderful experience we had working with Dan over about a 6 month time period. It was a breath of fresh air to work with Dan and his team. Of all the 20+contractors we have worked with in our life, Dan is one of the few that we would recommend to friends, family and co-workers. Let me sum up our perspective on working with Dan and DSD enterprises: - Highly responsive and completely reliable (when you call he answers or calls you right back, when he says he is going to be there he is which in our experience is an extremely rare quality in the world of contracting) - Can do attitude and experience to back it up (Dan will do whatever you need/want done, but he will give you his honest, professional opinion and is proactive about providing his perspective on what is best for the project and he has 3 generations of experience backing him up) - Top quality work (Dan and his team will fix it if it isn't right, he absolutely wants his clients to be happy) - He can do it all (seriously and if he can't he knows someone who can. Dan has a vast network of contacts and his always interested in sharing them with his clients.) When we do future renovations, we will absolutely work with Dan and DSD Enterprises. Thanks Dan!
