I saw these guys in the coupon clipper magazine as "green indoor air" advertising air duct cleaning for 59.95, I called to schedule the appointment and the person tells me that the first cleaning generally costs 150-300 because they have to create "access panels" to clean the ducts. I though "ok, thats reasonable". They show up in a truck that says "Green Pro Environmental". The paperwork says "Indoor Air Care". I should've figured out this was a scam by that point. I let them in and allowed them to create these "access panels" (which upon their leaving I noted were just shoddily sawed holes into my new ductwork sealed shut with tape when they were done). After agreeing to what turned out to be 500 dollars worth of vacuuming and making these "access panels" (90 minutes worth of work), the guy shows me a pic he took of the inside of the main duct with his iPhone (peppered in with shots of other people's ducts and personal pics), saying it was in need of a spray solution application that was going to cost another 1000 dollars. I declined and was sending them packing when they informed me they had broken the pane in my basement window and had to take a trip to the hardware store to replace it before they left. The guy was trying to tell me that it was loose and just popped out when they touched it, but that they would replace it, like they were doing me a favor. Once they left, I noticed that the basement screen was completely ripped as well so I doubt the window had just popped out as they claimed. I resplined the screen myself and was just glad to have them gone. They were here for 4 hours, most of that time was spent running back and forth to the hardware store to pick up things they needed and the replacement window. What a scam. I totally just wish I had Angie's list before I fell for this. I youtubed "air duct cleaning scam" after they left and the guys on the video were a carbon copy of the guys that came to my house. Once I searched for the right company name, I noted they have had many BBB complaints, and they even have a link to their BBB page on the website, as if their record is something to be proud of. They are now back in the coupon clipper magazine offering unlimited air duct cleaning at 19.95 instead of 59.95. One of the stupidest decisions I've ever made was calling these guys. Please don't make th same mistake!

My only regret is not having researched the company on Angie's list before i scheduled the service call. Also, since i was not at home when they came and had to have my poor wife deal with them. I've put N/A for quality of work, as i REALLY don't know or any way of checking the work that they did. To say the least, if i start to tell the story from start to finish, it might take me a very long time. Lessons learnt: 1. Do some research on the job that you are looking to get done. 2. Educate yourself of what kind of services MIGHT need to be performed, potential pitfalls. 3. Get MULTIPLE quotes and not go with the first number in the phone book / web listing. 4. Check bbb.org to see if there were any complaints filed in the past 5. Last, but not the least, CHECK ANGIE'S LIST. There was only one listing and that too an "F" for this company & I didnt' take the time to look it up on Angie's list. Darn it. Live and learn.
Description of Work: They were called to perform duct cleaning. The reason I called them was because of their coupon that i came across in coupon clipper. The advertised price was $39.95. It couldn't be more misleading. I have no problem paying whatever the contractor asks for provided they let me know well in advance and not after they start doing the job.

Horribly! They told me they needed to cut a new access panel for $39.99, which they did after asking. They "vacuumed" out the vents but I was told that it would cost over $1,300.00 to do the job "properly". I had 17 plus vents and they wanted to charge me several hundred PER vent when the coupon said "unlimited". I argued with the contractor and he said it takes a lot of work and that is why it is more money. I asked them to seal up the hole they made in our ducts and to leave. I paid them the $88 (and I was actually over charged by 3 dollars) as I wanted them to leave, I was not comfortable having them in my home. Once I gave them the check they left VERY abruptly and drove over my lawn to get their truck out. They did have a "customer service" questionnaire which they made me fill out, I gave them a decent rating, only because I was concerned they would cause problems and not leave. I felt this was a "bait and switch" operation. Once they come in your home, they try to sell you more services and barely do what they were paid to do. I called the office to complain and was finally told after I indicated I was upset by the experience that the $44.95 only covers giving an estimate for the work to be done, which was not what I was told when I booked the appointment. I only hope they didn't damage my air ducts when performing the service. Even at $88 I feel I paid way too much for the fact that they did basically nothing but hold the vacuum to each vent. Some vents still had cobwebs on them. I provided a "C" rating for punctuality because they did arrive more or less on time for my scheduled appointment.
Description of Work: This company came to clean the air ducts at my home. They had a coupon in the Supercoup coupon envelope that you receive in the mail. They advertised $44.95 "whole house duct cleaning special" which included unlimited vents, 1 return, 1 main and 1 access panel.
