Bill did an amazing job. We had a big party in the house and the job had to be done in 2 days. He worked long hours non-intrusively as we prepared for the party and it was done on time and quality! I highly recommend him.

Bill did a good job. He was fast with the wallpaper removal! He didn't use any chemicals at all, which I really appreciate. He has many, many years experience, so he knew his way around the process very well, anticipating how to NOT have problems.
I felt comfortable giving him the key to the house so he could work at the times he needed, as I couldn't be there at all times. His routine schedule starts around 10-10:30am and goes until about 5-6pm.
He was very friendly, as well as amenable to changes and adjustments in the plans as I needed to make them. He was pleasant and easy about a request to apply a second coat of paint to all the rooms as a way to fully satisfy my view of what was and quot;good quality.and quot; I very much appreciated that.

He was excellent. He was a problem solver. We had several problems, we had glow-in-the-dark stars stuck on the ceiling. He was able to get them off properly. It looks beautiful. I felt the price was reasonable. We had him do work in the master bedroom. He was able to paint our vaulted ceiling in a way I never considered before.

My mom's house suffered flood damage throughout the house froma a broken boiler. After contacting numerous contractors, I found Bill. Bill quoted me a very fair price for the repair and clean up that needed to be done. Some rooms are completed now and much to my amazement, the home that was built in 1959 is beginning to look brand new! Bill has done above and beyond my expectations of what I assumed would be the work done. He has taken the time to repair the walls, windows, trim and ceilings to the point where perfection just doesn't sum up his quality of work. He has put in so many hours of work, always on time, always having a clean work area and a pleasant attitude no matter how teadious the work may be. I am so thrilled to have found Bill to do the job. He is meticulous on his work and a more perfect job could not have been done. I would highly recommend him to anyone and look forward to having him do more of his work here. Before and after pictures will be downloaded and presented to prove his fabulous work. In my opinion, Bill Mulherin is the "Michael Angelo" of the 21st century !!

Both surfaces (floor and railing) were peeling and badly in need of painting. He sanded the surfaces down and used top quality oil base paint for both surfaces. The job was done promptly and most importantly, neatly and professionally. My porch looks fantastic! Never better!

I interviewed three or four painters for the job and got quotes from all of them. Bill's prices were competitive but what really stood out about him were a few things from the get-go. First, he does all the work himself. He doesn't come out to give an estimate and then send in cheap, unskilled labor to do the job. Second, he's been in the business a long time and he was clearly familiar with the unique challenges that an old house presents. He clearly knew that the secret to great a paint job was great prep work. Third, he recommended what needed to be done to do the job right but at the same didn't try to charge us for unnecessary work or extra coats of paint when they weren't needed. Lastly, he had an open, friendly attitude, was very likeable, and seemed trust worthy. I know that too many times first impressions with contractors can sour, but with Bill I was pleasantly surprised. He was everything he seemed and then some. Countless times throughout the project, he went above and beyond the job description to make sure the finished product looked great. You can tell that Bill is someone who not only loves his work, but someone who takes a great deal of pride in what he does. I'm fairly handy myself, and I would often be working next to Bill on some other project while he was painting. He'd often stop his work and give me advice - sharing the "tricks of the trade" that he'd picked up in his decades of experience. He was remarkably open - other pro's I've worked with are a lot more guarded with their trade secrets. I can honestly say that the project finished up a good 2-3 months sooner than it would have if it were not for Bill's help and advice. Not to mention the finished product! Bill's attention to detail is remarkable. I consider myself a perfectionist and someone with a very critical eye. Bill would attend to details that I wouldn't have noticed in a hundred years. In working with Bill, I've seen him paint, prep, and patch plaster walls. He's also stripped wallpaper for me - a thankless job I can't stand doing. He's done a remarkable job on everything. I couldn't be happier. I also came to know a bit about Bill since I've hired him. He learned the trade from his Father and Uncle. It's clear he honors their memory in the work he does. He's a great storyteller - and he'll tell you all about experiences he's had on the job if you ask. He's also an accomplished drummer and a walking encyclopedia of 60's music trivia (especially the Beatles). I think Bill is Metro West's best kept secret. I'm even a bit hesitant to post this review because I'm worried he'll get too busy for my other projects! All joking aside, it's the very least I can do after all Bill has done for us.

Had a lot of estimates none were within financial range and all thought the house was too small for a job. Went home to Boston, MA met a friend who owned his own company and he offered to come out and do the job for me. He brought exterior paint swatches and we choose the best one. He got started after researching to find the perfect paint for our climate. Started and finished within reasonable hours. Halfway through the project I decided to change paint colors and he helped me choose a new color and went out to find that one without any problem which I really appreciated. After he put it up on one panel and painted part of the trim I decided it was perfect and he got to work again paying attention to detail including taking down the mailbox and address number on the wall rather than painting over or around. Made really good and informed suggestions on how to keep up the exterior as well as colors for the door to contrast. He did great job helping to build my perfect cottage home.

Very well. Bill also stayed late several times and worked on weekends to ensure that the work was done when I wanted it to be.
