My experience with Glenn?s Moving and Storage (renamed Expert Moving and Storage) started shortly after I listed my home. I started receiving cute postcard mailings promoting their moving and storage services. They visited my home and although they didn?t actually give me a firm total estimate, but quoted me an hourly rate, they suggested that it would be so much faster to use four men, at $200.00per hour, stating it ?should be? around 10 hours. ?It?s a big job,? said Vinny, ?but everything will be moved just like it is in your house now, and once we are here you don?t have to worry about another thing!?
At the end of ?moving out day?, the estimated $2,000 was now $6,400!!!!! They decided, without consulting with me, to rent an extra truck, for which I paid, and send another man with it. They also did not allow enough time to unload the trucks, and charged me overtime to unload it. I pleaded with them to do it the next day at regular time and I would pay for the truck rental overnight. They flat out said NO and demanded CASH or Certified Check. I had no options, all of my belongings were in their trucks, heading to their storage facility.
This is the Glenn's Moving and Storage (renamed Expert Moving and Storage) final product. Yes, that's my freezer door in the foreground, which used to be attached to my freezer.

Fast Forward - Four Months Later
Moving Day: Another disaster.
Time to move my belongings from storage to the new house. Before starting?before opening the truck, Vinny and Glenn demanded another $6,500 in CASH. This was their "very great deal" to do the move on a "fixed rate?. They, however, assured me they would be there until everything was done.
The kids arrived again. No Vinny or Glenn in sight to take charge. The kids worked from 1:30 to 5:30 then jumped in the trucks and left without saying a word!! I literally chased after them, trying to call Glenn or Vinny from my cell phone. It turns out Glenn was enjoying a weekend on Cape Cod, but he assured me they would call me first thing in the morning and return to complete the job. Of course, they did not call, or come back, or finish the job?ever.
Nothing was completed "as promised". View photos to see what they left me with.
- Dining room furniture that was not assembled.
- Bedroom furniture with missing pieces and unassembled.
- A garage piled high with boxes they didn?t want to bring to their appropriate rooms that I had to hire more people to move.
- Holes in the walls and ceiling of a brand new home.
- Destroyed personal belongings, with the damage estimated at $10,000-$11,000.
- Office furniture that had to be put in a dumpster.
- A refrigerator delivered and left broken and in pieces.
- No insurance coverage despite being told it was provided and being issued a certificate of insurance by his insurance agent. Although Glenn never saw the rubble his kids left at my home, he told one of the many insurance adjusters that there was ?no damage?. The truth is they have no insurance coverage for the damage they caused.
Since my move, I have met other people that have used and/or heard of Glenn?s Moving and Storage (renamed Expert Moving and Storage) . I have also seen a lot of recent truthful online reviews. Beware since I also note a lot of ?fake? reviews that have no doubt been written by the ?family.?
Please take note and protect your family and other unsuspecting friends from an experience like this!
At the end of "moving out day" the estimated $2,000 was now $6,400!!! IN CASH!!! They rented a second truck, sent a fifth guy and charged me over $3,000 in overtime to unload the trucks. I pleaded with them to let me pay for the rental and unload at straight time but they would not. I had no option at this point as all of my family's belongings were in the truck heading to their storage facilityl
Fast Forward-Four Months Later: Moving In Day-Another Disaster!!! Before opening the truck the boys demanded another $6,500.00 in CASH. This was their great deal to do the move in on a fixed rate. They said they would be there until the job was done. No Vinny or Glenn to take charge. The boys worked from 1:30 to 5:30 then jumped into their trucks and left without saying a word!! I called Glenn as he was enjoying a weekend on Cape Cod and he assured me that they would call me in the morning and find the missing pieces and be back in the morning to do finish the job. Shocking that I never received the phone call nor did they finish the job. The move wasn't close to being complete when the moving boys quietly got in their trucks and left without saying a word: furniture was not assembled, pieces of furniture were missing, the garage was piled high with boxes that were not put in the rooms they belonged, they put holes in the walls, the office furniture had to be thrown away it was so damaged, the refrigerator was destroyed. I was told they had insurance and was given an insurance binder by their agent, there was only insurance to cover approximately 10% of the $12,000.00 damage. Certainly I had a lot to worry about from the first time Glenn's Moving set foot in my home! Nothing was left the way it was, as Vinny had promised...nothing at all was as promised.
Since my move, i have met other people that have used and/or heard of Glenn's Moving and have experienced the same thing, although maybe not quite as bad. There are a lot of "fake" reviews online that have obviously been written by the " family." A picture is worth a thousand words...check out the photos at www.glennsmoving-review-photogallery.com to see the work they did. I am sure you won't want your belongings cared for in this manner.
Protect your family and work with a reputable mover.
Never work with a company that will only accept cash!
Check online reviews, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Check the better business bureau...
It was one of the worst experiences of my life. They are definitely wolves in lambs clothing. Save yourself the heartache...never use this moving company and be careful as they sometimes slightly change their name so when an online search is conducted they may not show up and may be mroe difficult to track.
