Established in 1986, we have hundreds upon hundreds of satisfied customers, from the Property Managers we work with, to the many home owners and businesses we have installed roofing for. Yet any company can hand pick their favorite customers as a referral list. We at Richard Roofing Co, LLC believe that you are only as good as your last job. Maurice and his company exceeded our expectations. We chose Richard Roofing because of Maurice's aesthetic sense and his recommendations for what would look best and be most appropriate for our home. He listened carefully to what was important to us and he offered suggestions based on his extensive experience. We felt that he had our best interest in mind at all times. The execution of the project was perfect. They arrived when promised and thoroughly cleaned up at the end of each day. They stayed on the job until complete. Maurice had a presence on the job site and his foreman Mario was courteous, professional and competent. One of the best contractor experiences we have ever had.

Maurice and his team were very professional and courteous. They honored both the estimate and the timeline that they had quoted me. They communicated with me so I always knew what was going on and what to expect. I definitely recommend this company to anyone in the area that needs roof work. Our roof came out great, and their cleanup at the end of the job was excellent too.

They did a fantastic job. They showed up on time every day and worked long hours to get the job completed, including saturday. They stripped the roof down to the boards and plywood, applied ice and water shield and replaced all the flashing. They even recommended fixes to areas where I had perennial ice dams, so that water would not seep into the house, or behind my shingles.
They cleaned up the site each evening before leaving and were especially careful around the bushes, flowers, etc. Maurice has a hard working crew that works with you during the job and answers all questions as they arise. I would highly recommend Richard Roofing to anyone who wants a first class quality roofing job done.

They gave me a firm quote. They showed up on the day and time they said they would and they completed the job in the time they said it would take. I compared them to others and they were the most competitive I found.

Maurice Richard had availability the day after I called him. He and his team arrived promptly at the agreed on time. He stayed so supervise the whole process. Though he had said most snow/ice dam removal jobs run 1-1.5 hours, ours took longer because of the type of roof and severity of dams. They worked for 2.5 hours but only charged us for 2. Ice was over 3 feet thick in some spots. Very professional and courteous. I would recommend highly, without hesitation.

I was pleased with the results and price. I chose Richard because they were local (Hudson at that time) and based on a recommendation from a friend. They were prompt, efficient, friendly, easy to talk to and when they were gone there was little if any sign they had been there - other than the new roof. They were in and out the same day. I don't remember what the job cost.
The job was written with a 25yr shingle (I believe it was) and at the beginning of the job he asked if I wanted to upgrade to a 40yr(I believe). It was short money ( something like $160 or $170.) so we went with that.
The roof was done in 1994 and there has been no problems since.

Our house has a Mansard roof - so as Maurice pointed out the shutters are almost like a wall - it's visible and critical to the design and look of the house.
An architect down the street had recommended him to us. I thought roofers were rough and tough and had to be to keep from falling off in the hot sun. But Maurice was very different: educated, understated, enthusiasm for our house, but no sales pitch. He offered to do it for 20 k when two companies before were closer to 30 k.
But I forgot to say why we were replacing the roof. The roof we had was just a bad job. Shingles kept falling off on the lawn. Whoever did it took major shortcuts - like putting in one nail instead of the minimum of four.
Maurice and his men worked while we were on vacation. He found a lot of rotten boards and replaced them at no charge - just to stick with his estimate and not bother us while we were away. He had promised to clean up. Just to give you an idea of how cleaned up it was, I couldn't find one nail anywhere on the property. Of the hundreds he used, maybe thousands, I couldn't find one. In fact, I am sort of playing a game with myself to come up with at least one roofing nail. Kind of a souvenir of an excellent job.

These guys are great... excellent service... very professional and clean working... Owner on site often. Very reasonable price wise not the lowest or the highest but WELL worth the money. I would use them again in a heartbeat!!!

Maurice Richard and crew were all pleasant to deal with. Price was fair, and the main job seemed to be well-done: looks good and hasn't leaked.
There were a couple of issues. Main one concerned a pair of skylights. They had ordered these in advance, but supplier Harvey messed up the order somehow. Since roofing was already in process, they finished the roof and temporarily capped the holes. It was a wet period, and water came in during every storm. Gallons of water, which significantly damaged broad areas of floor and plaster, and made large ceiling and wall stains.
Stuff happens. But I was not pleased with the disbelief and denial I got when reporting this problem. They returned after a couple more storms, and did a lot more wrapping and taping. But the leaks continued almost unabated until the new skylights eventually arrived and were installed. I had many hours of repair to do; because of difficult access, some of it may have to wait a few more years.
I enjoyed dealing with this company, but was very disappointed by both the failure to secure those openings adequately, or to respond rapidly and effectively when the issue was reported. If they weren't so pleasant, and the main job so good (I hope), I'd have given a much lower score.

"First and foremost, I am surprised that a review can be made from a person with initials only and a PO Box. I know that this report if false. Any company that does work on a roof where damage occurs as a direct result of poor workmanship is responsible for the repairs from their negligence. I did not replace a roof in Lincoln for over a year, nor have I ordered custom skylights from Harveys for over 2 years, which makes this all the more confusing. Had a positive experience from beginning to end. Maurice Richard was friendly and professional, and a pleasure to do business with. The job was started punctually, and was completed in a couple days. The cleanup was done as they went, and our deck and shrubs were protected nicely. Other than the inevitable few nails in the grass (I searched very thoroughly), the cleanup was complete. The details (e.g., flashing) were all attended to nicely. On top of all this, the price for the job was very competitive.
