Their second team was courteous and nice, but I discovered a mess when I looked at the site. Grass sod had been buried at the bottom of the hole, with large rocks and the pieces of the old system (YUCK!) on the TOP of the site. Machine tracks everywhere. No tarp had been put down this time, so there was dirt everywhere, killing existing grass.
When I called them about the mess, they seemed to not understand why I would want things smoothed out and sod replaced. They reluctantly offered to send their landscaper back, but by then I didn't trust the situation to someone who didn't seem to care. We needed to show house for sale soon!
So they are capable of good work, and all very nice, but are extremely inconsistent with how they'll leave the site-- and what's work, appear to be clueless about what that means to a property owner.
"Hello [Member Name Removed], Thank you for taking the time to write this review, good or bad we appreciate our clients feedback. I have looked into your case and it does appear that the site was not left in as great of a condition as it was at the time of the inspection, the main reason for this is that the digging portion of the inspection was done with hand shovels, where as the installation of your distribution box had to be done with a mini excavator in order to excavate the area around the old box and replace it with a new one. This machine will certainly leave tracks on your lawn and definitely have an effect on your sod. This exact situation is referenced in the contract you signed weeks prior to the service, where we state we are not responsible for landscaping. I apologize if this wasn't explained to you properly. The pieces of the "old system" left behind that you are referencing are actually pieces of your old deteriorated distribution box that fell apart as it was removed - this is typical of decayed pre-cast components in any application, not just septic systems. If they are substantially large they should not have been left on top of the site, instead buried in the ground; sometimes the pre-cast is reduced to the size of pebbles and this would be difficult to remove by hand. Either way we apologize for this nuisance. We do understand why you would want the site to be smoothed out and the sod replaced but unfortunately that was not part of the contract you signed, rather it specifically points that out in order to alarm you of what the landscaping situation will be like once we leave the site. This makes it difficult for us to allocate time and resources for the additional service that you requested that was not originally included in your contract, which is why you felt we were reluctant to return to the site. Even so, both our records and yours indicate that we did offer to pull our landscaper off a full septic system installation site and send him to your property in order to make things right, which you denied. Lastly, we do care. We do know what it is like being a homeowner, especially one with a sale of a home on the line. This is all evident by the reviews below yours, the volume of title 5 inspections we do yearly, and simply by the fact that we offered to send out a member of our team to clean up the site when we could just have stuck by the contract. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you."
Excellent. Well worth the price. The technician cleaned BOTH flues and left no mess behind.
"Hello [Member Name Removed], While we do appreciate the review this is not a service we provided for you, we do not want to mislead our potential customers as we do not service any flues, furnaces, etc. We did however pump out the septic tank at your property on October 23, 2015. We appreciate your business very much and look forward to your next service."
