"For the most part [Member Name Removed]'s description of the job is accurate, however there are a few rather important details not mentioned. The original painter I sent to paint the bedrooms and bathroom begged me not to send him back to her house to do any more work because of just how particular and micromanaging [Member Name Removed] was. Seeing as Murilo was not willing to go back, I sent a crew with Paul who has worked for me for 25 years and has always been my most consisent interior painter. [Member Name Removed] and Paul clearly did not get along as [Member Name Removed] continued to try and dictate how we approached the job and started picking things apart well before we were even close to being done. When she approached Paul yet again while in the middle of rolling a wall, Paul made the mistake of saying "I ain't fixing that", in which she then promptly made fun of his improper grammer by saying "Oh you Ain't" with a condescending smirk". After feeling not only insulted but more so embarrased by her making fun of him he swore at her and that is when I got the phone call that I must to the job immediately in which I did. After hearing both sides of the story, I decided to pull the crew out of there immediately. We both took a few days to process what exactly happened as an issue like this has NEVER occured with us before. Of course this happened at the busiest time of the year and I had many deadlines fast approaching and was now limited as to whom I could send back to her house. I told her there were only 2 choices that I could think of. I could send a different crew that would address all her issues or if she didn't feel she could wait (which was totally understandable) then I would agree to not charge her for a job that was approximately 70% done. She agreed that she would take option #2 and I was under the belief that we worked out a very amicable solution to a situation we both had wished never happened. Needless to say I was more than a bit surprised to see a negative posting about us on a service that is all referral based. We are not perfect but always try our best to be fair to all customers. As far as the accusation that we contract out all our work, that is simply not true. My carpenter is independent but all of my painters work exclusively for me and in a field in which there is tremendous turnover, they have been with me for a minimum of 5 years. Please check out the rest of my referrals as all of my painting ratings have been straight A's until this one. Thank you for your time, Jeff Millar Owner"
"I don't know if this is a new post or an old one. It is the first time I have seen it as I just renewed my listing after some time off. I was unaware of any of this. I asked my carpenter what happened and he explained that he subcontracted someone to replace the roof shingles and the job didn't go as well as it should have, mostly because of improper cleanup by roofing crew. There were no issues however with his replacement of rotted wood or with our paint job. We have painted for [Member Name Removed] multiple times, I wish he had called me when it occured and I would have helped rectify it"
Did entire inside of house 3 floors. Very punctual, cleaned up, very responsive to feedback. A pleasure to work with
"Customer was told before we painted they had a "moisture problem" where water gets behind the siding and the sun pulls it out thus causing the paint to peel. It was obvious from the amount of peeling they currently had before we did anything. They could either remove all the clapboards, add tyvek (a moisture barrier) and then re-side with pre-primed wood. That cost would be approx $5000. I told them that some customers had luck with us "wedging" the house. This is done by applying small metal wedges behind the clapboards thus giving the clapboards a chance to breath better. They were also told it would NOT solve the problem, only slow it down. Cost to "wedge" the siding in this area was only $200. They chose the cheaper and less effective route. When they called back to say it didn't work, I offered to repair it at a reduced rate. I offer a 2 year guarantee on normal paint jobs and no guarantee on houses with this type of problem. I thought offering to do an $800 job for $500 showed good character, not the opposite."
