Multiple diagnostic tests later, it was a faulty gas cap and a cheap fix that a less honest shop would have probably rung up huge charges on. I've been here on multiple different occasions and this experience was typical: The guys are always great to work with, honest and efficient. Definitely won't go anywhere else.

This was our first experience, and it was excellent. We look forward to using them for our service needs going forward.

Sometimes the customer isn't right. I misdiagnosed a steering problem as a leaking hydraulic return line and tried to buy the replacement tubing. Fortunately the part wasn't in stock so I decide to return to East Main Automotive Service. Apparently the problem was really a leak in the hydraulic pressure line and East Main had it fixed within a day.
I've used these guys couple of times now and they've certainly earned my trust.

Diagnostics wasn't an issue since the problem was obviously exhaust, but the mechanic reviewed exactly what he needed to do and the likely timing and cost. The work was perform in a timely fashion and I had my car back by the end of the day at a great price.

I have been using them for over 20 years, for both minor and major auto care. They have invariably done a great job, in good time, at a fair price.

We dropped the car off the night before our appointment. I stopped in to see how the work was going on my way to work at abou t 9am. I saw that they had the plastic engine cover off to look for the oil leak. I asked them what they found and they said...besides a leaking oil cap on the valve cover? Nothing. They said it would take a few more minutes to button the car back up, so I stopped back later after work to pick it up. Charge for what I know was at least an hour of work? $0. Absolutely nothing.
A few years ago they worked on my truck. It had a brake code. They changed a rear wheel sensor. I picked up the truck and it was still throwing the code. I took it back. It turned out that it needed the harness between the two wheels replaced too so they replaced it. Charge for the additional work was nothing. Not even for the part because they felt bad that they didn't catch it before they gave it back to me.
These are a bunch of honest guys doing only the work necessary at a reasonable price. They always get my car in the shop within a few days. They always get the work done promptly. They are always professional an polite. They have had my business for ten years and if I am lucky they will have it for another twenty. We have five cars, including three classics and that means plenty of repairs. They do everything from classics to Mercedes (they are certified Mercedes mechanics) and even worked on my Wife's 1990 Jaguar XJS after it nearly caught fire. It took a little while, but the work was right and the price was fair.

They were able to fix it. I had to go in there twice and they charged me the time and the second time I went in, it was faulty part during the first time and they replaced that for free. Whenever I call, I was able to get an appointment to bring the car in within the day occasionally but almost during the next day, able to get the car right away and get back to me with a good quote. Their price was reasonable and they don't seem to over charge and they don't seem to do more than they need to. I brought ti in a couple of times where they said they didn't need to do anything on it.

I am new to the area and had a bad experience at another local shop. Found reviews of East Main Auto and decided to give them a try. I called up and told them what I needed done and what I needed them to look at. They were able to get me in right away. They performed the service as requested and called before performing any work (much needed) that was not discussed. They did a great job and most importantly these guys are honest and trustworthy. It is nice to find a shop where you can trust they are only doing work that needs to be done, which can be a rare find these days. Will definitely be going back in the future.

They are incredibly honest. They are incredibly quick. They are incredibly professional. They go way above and beyond in anything you can ever expect. I would use their services again in the future.
