Auto Service
A close friend was visiting from out of state and his car broke down on the side of the Road. The vehicle was towed to Greg's Auto in Northampton, but later moved to P & D Auto for repair. Pancho, the mechanic overseeing the repair, explained the Fuel Pump & Assembly were in need of replacement. He also explained, the previous garage to work on the vehicle must have accessed the fuel pump by cutting through the rear of the car's floor by removing the back seats instead of removing the fuel tank. He followed the same procedure, going through the back of the vehicle vs. removing fuel tank. He supposedly replaced the fuel pump and assembly and returned the car in working condition. However, on their way home my friends again broke down just across the PA border near Scranton. They again towed the vehicle to a nearby garage and were forced to wait the weekend in a hotel for a early Monday repair. According to the garage in PA there is no way the fuel pump and/or assembly were replaced. The parts used are not new, and likely not different parts either. P & D Auto has failed to return phone calls about the situation. It is likely the garage did not replace the parts at all.
