This was a good place to do inspection. You don't need an appointment, it's first serve as walk-in. It took about 45 minutes from the time I walked in to the time I left. They seemed very trustworthy. They weren't looking for problems to fix. The place I went to last year failed me and came up with $400 of work they said I needed to pass inspection. Not at Ernie's. They did the inspection as required and I passed with no problems. They were friendly and competent. Sitting in the little waiting room is not great, but they are close to town so I just took a short walk and came back. Overall, a good experience and I will go back next year for my inspection. I also hear they are honest and reliable for other work.

They took me after a short wait. They were professional and everything was fine with my car. I will go back again.

Ernie's is owned by Ernie Booth, a local business owner and mechanic with about 4 excellent experienced mechanics working for him. They are all personable, professional, and helpful. I'm guessing Ernie's has been there for at least 40 yrs. or more. In my experience he has the best reputation in Northampton and is widely known for absolutely honest, reliable estimates and work. This is not a dealership, but an opportunity to support a completely local business. The work is always good, they consult you about what they are doing, and nothing unnecessary is done. Though they have 100's of customers, it is unusual to have to wait more than a couple or 3 days for a routine appointment. In 20 years, my car has had to be towed there twice due to breakdown or accident and I receive immediate attention. My bills have always been completely in line, and if there is nothing wrong with your car, Ernie won't and quot;fixand quot; it--he will say there is nothing wrong and give it back without a charge. I have many, many times referred friends and others there. Ernie's also pumps gas. Massachusetts requires an annual car inspection sticker and not all garages do that, but Ernie's does.

.Second time I've been to Ernies. First with my friends 2007 PT Crusier for an oil change and MA inspection. Second with my 2008 Buick when I moved here from NYS for an oil change and MA inspection. I trust Ernies, enough said

I have no complaints so I guess they did a good job. There was nothing that neccessarily stood out.

Dropped the car off at 2:30 PM. They said it would be ready about 4:00 PM. It was ready on time. Very busy place.

I’ve been to Ernie’s Garage several times and I think his prices are reasonable. You can always get an appointment quickly and he tries to accommodate you in every way he can. For example, I am disabled and I brought my laptop with me last time I was there. He assisted me in plugging in my computer and all sorts of things that make it more comfortable for me. He went above and beyond the car work.
