I wish I could give Cotton Tree Service more than five stars. They have removed 5 trees from our property on two separate occasions. Four were over 30 feet tall. All the trees were removed carefully and professionally with heavy equipment and yet our lawn was not damaged. The hard working crew was very polite, professional and knowledgeable. The owner Tom was on site to operate the large crane and his skill was amazing to watch. There will be more tree removal in our future and Cotton Tree Service will be the only one we will call. I highly recommend them.

Dave and his team were great! A tree my husband had started to cut down was beginning to lean toward our home and propane tank. We contacted Dave and he was at our home within 20 minutes. He was able to safely complete cutting down the tree. We had several other trees that also needed to be removed and he was able to cut them down as well. Dave saved our home from what could have been an awful event on extremely short notice. He was friendly and his prices were very reasonable. We would definitely hire him again.

The tree team showed up on time on what turned out to be the hottest most humid day of the year so far. Regardless, they did a great job and cleaned up the site really well. They were professional but personable and great to work with. I would definitely hire them again and strongly recommend this company.

We have used Cotton Tree Service multiple times to remove trees from our property. I am always impressed with their work: they work quickly and efficiently and their debris clean-up is excellent.

The best tree company around!! Mr. Cotton is a man of exceptional work ethic!! He is also an arborist. He and his crew completed a very big project to remove five oak trees from our backyard. He has done summer, fall, and winter work. He went out of the way not to damage any part of the property. They would lay down pads where they would roll the large equipment in. He had a great crew that seemed to do 2 days of work in one day.

They trimmed one tree for me. The service was fine and they did a good job cleaning up.

It was a delicate job because the tree stood immediately beside our cottage, and it was in the middle of a large bed of endangered
wildflowers.
The crew was very well organized and disciplined. The job was done using a large crane, a dump truck, and about eight men. It was executed perfectly.
Based on his experience as an arborist, Mr. Cotton voluntarily inspected many other trees and provided his opinions on them without applying pressure on us to spend more money on them.

Called Cotton tree service and set up an appointment for an estimate.  Scott arrived at the appointed time.  Listened to the work that I wanted done.  He gave an estimate, calculating the total using a bucket truck for both trees and using a bucket truck for one tree and the crane truck for the other tree.  That tree was next to the neighbor's fence and our garage.  It was cheaper to use the crane truck to remove the tree near the garage.  The work order was submitted.  I was told that the office staff would call with a scheduled date.  The office staff called the following week and scheduled the work for the following day.  The crew arrived on time, was friendly and answered questions.  They cut the wood into 16 inch lengths, stacked it and cleaned up the mess in the yard.  When they trimmed the large branch that was over my front porch, they even blew the leaves off of the roof and raked them up.  The tree that was taken down by the crane truck was scheduled for another day.  The experience was the same.  They arrived on time.  Cut the wood into 16 inch lengths and cleaned up the yard as they went along.  I would definately recommend and use Cotton tree service again.

Excellent.  We have used other tree services in the past, and these are the best.  They arrived in a timely fashion with the appropriate equipment and man power.  They were meticulously careful not to damage our property.  They did the work quickly, carefully and professionally. Excellent communication and a pleasure to do business with... highly recommended.

During the snow storm on Oct 29, 2011 I had part of a tree fall on my house.  I was away for the next couple of weeks but called Cotton upon my return.  Even though they were swamped with work due to the storm, they came and inspected the damage and we agreed on a price that covered  the insurance estimate.  The work was completed a few days later

After several failed attempts to get other tree services to perform the work promised, I contacted Cotton Tree Service.  I was delighted to hear a real person's voice on the phone.  They actually answer the phones!!!  The estimator came out almost to the minute as promised. Prior to coming to do the work, I was notified (again by a real person!!) and three guys came the next day, as promised.  They were friendly, worked hard and completed the task by the middle of that afternoon.  They raked up every leaf and cleaned up so well that if I hadn't been home I might never have known they were here!  (Except, my dead branches and tree damage was taken care of).  All branches were chipped and carted off.  I would recommend Cotton Tree Service to anyone within their service area.  The bill was exactly as estimated....no hidden charges.  Great job guys!!!

It went very well.  They were professional on the phone and were clear on the estimate.  They were able to come within about a week, and came on the appointed day and did the work effectively.  They cleaned up very well and at the end we had a bunch of neat-looking trees with no more "hangers," some logs piled neatly, and very little debris!

Work went well, do to the volume of other work in the region, it took awhile to have the work completed.

I have used this company for thirty years. This company is reliable and dependable. Their prices are very fair. They have the equipment and expertise to take down large trees. I'm very satisfied with the quality of work done by this company.

They are amazing.  They have got the equipment to do big jobs like this.  They bring a lot to bear.  They just come in, do it, and get out.  I would use them again in the future if I could only get them.  They are a very busy company and they take on very large jobs.  Very often they have got their crews in Vermont or New Hampshire.  They move around a lot.  Given all that happened during Irene in this area, they came to us very quickly.  We needed to get those 100 foot trees off our garage.  They very delicately lifted them up so that nothing was further damaged.  Even as they were doing this with a 4 ton crane, it was pretty impressive.  They are very well trained.

When we called, Dave Cotton came out personally to look at the job. He spent a lot of time with us, and I was extremely impressed with the depth of his knowledge; this company knows what they are doing from A to Z. We got a quote for "up to $600," and made an appointment. No one showed on that date. We called to reschedule, and they did the work on a day we were not home. The job appeared to have been done well and professionally. The tree was down near the house, with one branch resting on the roof, on a piece of land only about seven feet wide between the house and a steep incline on a neighbor's property. Therefore, removing it must have been pretty tricky. However, we had agreed on some special conditions (leaving the brush for us to clear; chopping up the trunk and stacking it for our use). These were not fulfilled, and the bill was $630. We wrote to work it out, then called, and Mr. Cotton agreed to drop back by to chop and stack the trunk. But he never showed. I wrote another letter, to which there was no response. Finally, five months later, I sent a check for $550 to call it even, with an invitation to contact us if he did not agree this was fair under the circumstances. I admire the breadth of knowledge and skill of this company, and the initial friendliness and attentiveness of Dave Cotton. He really knows trees, in depth, from all angles. But the details of our job got lost in translation, and it was difficult, and then impossible, to make contact to resolve these details. I don't know if this is because the business side is poorly run, or because it was a difficult time for this business (the founder of the company and father of the owner, Ed Cotton, had just passed away), or some other reason. I would like to be able to work with this company again, because of their skill, but it's a difficult call, because of our crossed-wires/no-contact experience.
