Marc was great to work with. One of the units had a strange lead inspection issue that preceded my ownership of the property and he was knowledgeable about the system and provided the best options for resolving the issue. He is pleasant, helpful and professional--very customer-focused. It took a while to actually get the certificates, but Marc regularly checked with the agency to see what was going on with their backlog. All in all, a positive experience!

+ -1 moreMarc was very professional. He returned my call the same day. He scheduled the inspection within the week. He was pleasant and informative. He answered all my questions. He also gave me a list of state licensed deleading companies.
Description of Work: Inspected inside and outside for lead paint in rental apartment. He filled out the necessary form to be given to the lead removal company. After the lead removal work was done, he returned and took samples. He had these samples checked by the State Lab He then sent us a letter of compliance.

+ -1 moreMarc Beaudette was very punctual, and did a thorough check of all surfaces using an XRF instrument. Most importantly, he very patiently answered a whole bunch of questions that we had regarding renovating in a lead-safe manner. Overall a very knowledgeable and professional person.
Description of Work: Checked our entire house for lead paint or tile, in advance of a kitchen renovation.

+ -1 moreIt went great. Marc was on a job when I called and promised to call me that evening, he did! Even though my husband is way more knowledgeable about house stuff, it was my job to take care of the preliminaries. A good friend recommended him so I planned to get an estimate from him and a few others. However, he was so patient and helpful on the phone, I decided to forego calling some other inspectors. I figured if he didn't turn out as reliable as he sounded, I'd start all over. I checked out his website, which raised more questions, mostly having to do with the legalities of deleading. We discussed this when he was here and frankly, I didn't pay that close attention. Marc did reassure me that he'd guide us through the process when and if the time came. Even though my kids are older, Marc felt it was important to remind me about the dangers of lead on kids.
Description of Work: Marc spent about 1.5 hrs doing a lead inspection on our small bungalow, built in 1923. The inspection included walking the interior of the house (two floors) and taking readings for data points. It was not surprising that lead was discovered in all the windows and apparently, given that this is an older home, in the cabinetry as well. He also went outside to examine the shingles, etc. and found more lead. Besides explaining the remediation process, he had a handout for me about financing options and tax credits to make the process viable. He didn't expect me to make a decision on the spot but the fact that he had this info. ready for me showed he's a proactive kind of guy. I was also surprised to find out that deleading is something a do-it-yourselfer can do, legally! He also had a list of licensed deleaders if that was the route we wanted to go. The whole process can be complicated to navigate and he offered to act as a "consultant" to interpret the compliance issues.
