The flooring we chose is light with dark grain marbling and there are 8 variations of boards. Most installers would open multiple boxes (we had 43 boxes to choose from) and separate boards so that when they are laid down they are able to vary the boards to give a more natural look. NOT THESE GUYS. I walked into my kitchen to find that the same board had been laid side by side SIX times in a space right in the middle of the kitchen. It looked silly. When I pointed it out to Dave - the owner's brother and guy left in charge - he argues that he had no choice as that particular box had mostly that type of board. i did explain that he should be opening multiple boxes at once to avoid this and I was told that would take way too long. It took a call to Lowes to have this resolved. At that point the owner came out (this was the only time he actually showed up to check the work) and he did make them fix it but let me know he was not happy about having to do so.
When it came time to do the finishing the work is WAY sub par. The corners of the molding around my fireplace is horrible - huge spaces. The transition pieces between rooms are chipped with HUGE nail holes. It's terrible.
Lowes is aware of the issues and ordered new moldings to be put in but the contractor will no longer take their calls so they have dropped them as a Lowes contractor.
