ROUTE 1 CAR & VAN WASH

I have been going to Route 1 Car & Van Wash for the last 8 years.  I have always had an SUV so I would estimate that I have spent about $2,400.00 at this business for car washes alone (forget about the tips).  In March, I got a 2007, pristine Infiniti FX35.  I started taking it to Route 1 Car & Van Wash from day one. 

On 6/4/11, I went for my usual weekly wash and vacuum.  Once you are next in line, you get your slip and go into the building to pay for your wash.  You don't see your car again until it comes out at the end.  When it came out the end, I hopped in my vehicle and immediately noticed the 1 1/2 inch tear in my front passenger leather seat.  I immediately got out and went into the building to get the owner/manager.  I explained the situation and brought him over to see the tear. You could clearly see it was a fresh tear.  He flat out denied that it was done there.  Never even questioned the guys who actually did work on my car (i.e, vacuuming, wiping, etc.). He just collects the money.  I gave him an incredulous look and simply asked "Is this really how you want to handle this? Clearly it's a fresh tear.  I've been coming here for years and you know that.  Why would I fabricate this??!!"  He replied "I don't know what to tell you, it had to have been there."

I thought about my options: 1.) Not leave until he concedes 2.) Call the police (dumb) 3.) File an insurance claim?? (ridiculous) 4.) Get the h*** out of there and have the seat repaired.

I chose to leave and while I probably didn't need to, I let the >expletive< know that he would never see me again.  He didn't seem to care.  I can get the seat fixed by Dr. Vinyl for probably like $75.  The point however is that the guy is a sleazebag and he could have worked something out with me.  Instead he decided to be a dismissive jerk.

DO NOT go here.  If anything EVER happens to your vehicle, they will NOT stand by their service (or lack thereof)
