I brought it to Sutton Street and they took it immediately. They couldn't find the problem with the wipers, so nothing was done. No charge for that. They installed a control knob on the heater and that problem cleared up. They didn't charge me for the knob.
As for the check engine light, they ran a diagnostic which cost $167. They then replaced the fuel injector and the spark plugs, which came to about $240 with parts & labor. They then charged $65 to "perform proper drive cycle to reset all emmission monitors".
Even though they didn't charge me for the knob, their other diagnostic costs were high. Overall the diagnostics cost almost as much as the repairs. They also charged me $11 for removal of hazardous materials which also seemed rather high considering the work done . On the bright side, they passed my car for the inspection sticker.
The worst part was the windshield wipers still didn't work and the check engine light came back on within a month. I ended up going to a different mechanic who replaced the wiper motor and also fixed the issue with the engine light. The new mechanic didn't charge me any diagnostic fees and was able to fix everything on the first try.
I won't go back to Sutton Street.
