Oliver Enterprises

Oliver Enterprises provided us with exceptional service, and transformed our backyard from a sloping, muddy mess into a beautiful oasis faster than I ever thought possible. Their masons are highly skilled and built two extensive paver patios, two stone staircases, concrete paver pool coping, and stone retaining walls. The site was challenging, with the whole thing sloping 7' in less than 50' of length. The crew expertly fine graded the site to create usable lawn space, patios and stairs that mesh into the existing structures beautifully. I highly recommend their services.

Excellent experience with Chris and Jeff. I wanted a patio in the back yard but was concerned about draining from my sump pump which created a small "pond" in the area. Chris recommended a well for drainage covered by decorative rocks and plantings. I looks beautiful! I'm also thrilled with the patio. It looks great and I already use it a lot. The entire process took less than three days. The guys were great, answered all my questions, and left the property spotless.

Oliver Enterprises did a great job on a very involved project. My house is built about 10-12 feet off of street level and is retained by a 5-6 foot retaining wall. They excavated a two car driveway where my existing yard was beside my house and the neighboring property. They took all the necessary precautions and made sure that the job was done correctly. The spoke with neighbors and were very good with communicating throughout the process and got the project done in a timely manor. There was a lot that could have went wrong, but they had the knowledge, equipment and experience to make sure everything went smoothly. In total they added two car parking, removed and replaced the existing retaining wall and replaced the water and sewer line going into my house. I would highly recommend them!

Oliver replaced our falling-down stone wall, removed a bunch of ugly old yews, and regraded and reseeded our sloping lawn. The grass is coming in now, and everything looks amazing. We are especially impressed with how beautiful the new wall is and how it seamlessly blends into the old wall. We changed our minds about 400 times about what we wanted before the project actually started, and they were unfailingly patient and always helped us find the most economical and aesthetically appropriate solution.

It was very pleasant dealing with Chris who designed the patio and landscape as he was very knowledgeable in his ideas for the new patio. He was very receptive of my need to have easy to care plantings. The landscape aspect of the job was beautifully done and the choice of pavers he suggested worked great with the color of my house. It was also very pleasant in dealing with TJ and Jeff, the owners, who were in charge of the patio, stairs, and side entry excavation and installing the new patio, stairs, side entry. Their workers were polite and cleaned up well after each day as well as the end of the projects. The work was completed on time as stated and everything looks beautiful. Overall ver satisfied and would definitely recommend them and will probably see them next year for front stairs and walk.

The contractor removed the existing brick walkway and replaced it with poured concrete walkway. The contractor took great care to ensure my lawn and driveway were not damaged or stained. The men were friendly and courteous. The mason asked multiple times while the forms were being installed if it met my expectations. The mason was very knowledgeable and provided an excellent final result. Their quotation and billing processes were also very timely, efficient and professional. Their price was within the other estimates I received.

They stand by their work. Oliver Enterprises worked on the outer foundation on the driveway side of the house, installed a drywell, and redid the driveway. Several months after the project was completed, during a period of heavy rains, there was an unanticipated issue*. To their credit, Jeff Oliver came back with his team, treating the issue as a problem to solve, and put in a lasting solution. (* I did check with other professionals and the problem was a rare occurrence.)

My project included installing a rock wall and two patios with paver stones, plus installation of trees/shrubs/perennials, lighting, and irrigation. I love my yard and working with Chris (Connelly) was great. He is personable, responsible, reliable, and has a good eye for design. His crew is great too, from the irrigation guys, to the hardscape crew, to the planting crew. Everyone was friendly, respectful, and hardworking.

We were thrilled with our experience. Not only is the end result beautiful and a huge upgrade, but the project was done with great professionalism. The guys arrived on-time, put in a hard day’s work, paid great attention to detail and left the site immaculate. Jeff and TJ were very involved with up-front planning and helped us tackle a big project in a confined space. We bid the project out to several contractors and their price was very competitive and fair. The work consisted of removing an existing cast-in-place retaining wall, site grading, installation of new precast wall, stone veneer and seed/loam. Would without a doubt recommend them to others and would definitely use again in the future.

The project turned out just as I envisioned and solved many of the problems I was experiencing. The drainage system works perfectly and the new asphalt driveway, new walkway, and landscaping look great. Finally, I have a back yard with plantings and grass all over! All my neighbors have complimented me about how beautiful it looks. Oliver Enterprises were great to deal with.

They did a great a job in our backyard and side-yard. First, Jeff made a thorough planning of the work to be done while listening to our concerns. The job took a week to be performed, and they started and finished it as scheduled. The job involved grading, excavating, and removing soil and debris from the backyard, and they carefully used big machines to do all the phases of this project without doing any damage to the property. The workers were efficient, respectful and easy to work with. They were also flexible as I asked them to include additional services (mulching and stone steps). The price was reasonable and comparable to prior estimates I got for this project. The result of the job was wonderful. I enjoy the lawn playing soccer with my kids and having barbecues with friends in the patio. They also responded to my concerns even long after the work was done. Nine months after they finished the job, I called them because the pavers got stained and what I tried to clean them up did not work. Jeff brought me a product that worked nicely. I would work with these people again.

We hired Oliver Enterprises to tear down and replace our crumbling, 1950-ish cement patio with something new. First they worked with us to develop a plan, then they executed it to perfection. And it was a fairly complicated project that involved stone walls, paver flatwork, walkways, stairs and landings, stucco work, fencing, and landscaping. Every step of the way, Jeff and his crew were extremely easy to work with and clearly take great pride in their work. We couldn't be happier with our new patio, and the compliments from our neighbors have been pouring in!

Oliver Enterprises was great. Out of three companies I contacted for quotes, they were the only ones who wanted to meet face-to-face with me, in order to review the work. Everything was explained clearly up front, so I knew what I was getting, including any potential risks. And the wall came out great. I've gotten lots of people who have commented to me how great the wall came out.

They are wonderful and very professional. They're a great team to work with. They did beautiful stone work and were here rain or shine. We still plan to use them for snow removal.

We hired Oliver Enterprises to completely rebuild our front steps and wall after ours had begun to deteriorate. Jeff Oliver came to our house to give us our initial consultation. Very quickly, it became apparent that he was extremely knowledgeable in his field. We had many questions about the masonry process, price, materials and best practices and Jeff answered them all without hesitation. In addition to answering our questions, he really listened to what we wanted and offered advice on the best way to get the job done, even when that meant saving us money. We trusted him right away. 

Once all of the details were decided upon, Jeff returned to our house so we could sign the contract and the work could begin. One of our favorite things about this company is that they handle everything, including the obtaining of permits for the work to be done. Once the start date was set, we simply waited for it to arrive. Our masons arrived on time and began working right away. 

We were also in touch with a project manager throughout the entire process, which took about three weeks, including weather-delays and unforeseen occurrences. For example, in our case, during demo, it was discovered that our sewer line was not up to code. The project manager contacted us immediately to let us know and advised us of the extra cost involved if we chose to have the issue corrected. We very much appreciated his promptness at contacting us and we chose to have the job done correctly to avoid future issues. We were very thankful for the notice and the fact that Oliver handled this part of the job as well. Correcting the issue took only 2 days and did not impact our targeted finish date at all.

The masons who did the actual work were absolute professionals. We were astounded at how quickly and beautifully the work was done. Our finished product is nothing short of stunning.

Another service we hired Oliver to do was to pour some concrete in our garage to correct an issue where water was forming a puddle in our driveway and seeping inside. In addition they poured some more cement in front of our house to repair our driveway apron. Both issues are fixed and look beautiful.

The very last piece of the task was to order wrought iron railings for our steps, which we did through Oliver. Their vendor contacted us and sent some samples for us to choose from and the work was done as soon as the winter snow cleared up.

Overall, we find Oliver to be wonderful at what they do, and there is proof of their stunning handiwork all over our neighborhood! We would hire them again without hesitation. We are both very satisfied customers.

It went really well and I am so pleased with the results.  Oliver Enterprises is a class act.  From first contact, to final billing, they were courteous, efficient, effective, and attentive to my needs.
 I had them replace my back porch steps, which were crumbling.  Jeff Oliver came and spent quite a bit of time with me explaining what they would do, how it would work, options I could choose, and in particular helped me figure out how to address several issues I was dealing with in terms of the logistics of getting in the door.  We widened the steps a bit, added a landing, and the wrought iron railings took much less space than what was there before, giving me room to stand to the side of the door.  I asked a ton of questions and he answered them all, and also gave me the names of some folks to talk to who had done projects similar to mine and I went to see some of their prior work.  All of the references gave me detailed and objective feedback on what to expect, which was extremely helpful.  
I had several good quotes from reputable firms any of which I'm sure would have done a good job.  I chose Oliver because of their responsiveness, the detail in their estimate that made it very clear what I was going to get and how they would conduct the job, and also because after looking around at many masonry jobs I fell in love with the artistry of their work.  Other stone walls looked like stone soup, with big rocks in the midst of a sea of mortar.  Oliver's work focuses on the beautiful stones they use, and deemphasizes the mortar.  I started out thinking I would get brick but ended up with stone because it was aesthetically so much nicer, and different.
Jerry was assigned to manage my project.  We had several conversations over the course of the project and I appreciated his attentiveness to my needs--he explained their process, what was going to happen next, and worked hard to make sure I was satisfied with the work they were doing.  They dug down 18" to lay a foundation and built up the steps with concrete, filled it with crushed stone, and faced it with stone.  It is really solid and way better than what was there before.  Every member of Jerry's team was highly professional, cheerful, and helpful, not to mention good at what they did.  The two gentlemen who did the bulk of the masonry work were such a pleasure to have around for a week.  They did an excellent job of keeping the site free of debris and cleaned up well when they were done.  They were all smiles every time I stopped by to see how it was going, and spoke articulately about what they were doing and what was coming next.
Nam who does the wrought iron railings did a terrific job.  They just arrived last week and the whole effect is very elegant.  I am so glad I did this, and that it turned out so nice.

Extremely professional, on time and very clean. Looks great! Masonry work was impeccable stone work!

From our first meeting, we got the impression that he would do a very thorough job. While the price was higher than some other quotes we received, he formulated a well thought out plan to replace our existing walkway while addressing longer term concerns stemming from the pitch of the surrounding area and the layout/design of the space, which other contractors neglected to consider.
The project started before their original estimated start date and his team showed up early every day and did efficient and precise work.  The resulting product exceeded our expectations and we've already had a neighbor tell us he was so impressed by what he saw that he made sure to photograph their truck so he could get in contact with them in the future.
We will definitely be reaching out to Jeff/ Oliver Enterprises for future projects.
