I was looking for a salon that did shellac nails. I have had gel nails several times but heard from other people that shellac lasted longer. I called Ivy and the woman said yes, they did shellac. I made an appointment and went in. The manicurist showed me gel polishes and I said I wanted shellac. She said and quot;Gel like shellacand quot;. I should have left then because I felt deceived but I didn't want to be rude so I had the manicurist do my nails. I have always gone 1 1/2 to 2 weeks before the gel nails started to peel (never any chipping). However, the gel nails I received at Ivy started chipping after only 5 days. By 8 days they were all coming loose so I peeled them off. Please note - I always use rubber gloves for dishwashing and household chores. I did not abuse these nails. The girl who applied them was very nice and attentive but the quality of the application or the product was inferior.
