Leak got worse around the first floor wrap around after job was completed. The main reason for roofing was to get that rubber under bottom of upper floor vinyl siding which he replied to me when I saw he was not doing this was that he thought it did not need it. Two back den rooms got worst leaks than before his job and needed to have drop ceilings replaced because of lack of rubber under shingles. Two front sun rooms got also got worst after his job that also required work. One kitchen sheetrock ceiling also got damaged. He returned last year to try to get rubber under vinyl siding in front of house but he came so late in the year that when he replaced a siding it was put up broken and curved making the house look alarmingly terrible. He told us he was going to send a friend that owed him a favor to put rubber under the siding and in under the shingles close to the house. This friend asked us for too much money to fix the situation. Couture called us and said when the weather gets better he would spend a day and do what we asked from the beginning. After many calls we began to realize that he would probably not show up. He tried to tell us that the 2nd floor windows were not in right and that was the cause. We then hired a contractor do fix the windows but soon discovered that the windows were not causing the leaks. It was determined that Couture failed to over lay rubber on the hips of the house under the new roof shingles.. That fixed stop the leaks entirely. It cost us thousands of dollars to fix the 12 windows upstairs that did not need to be replaced as Couture suggested. Couture also said that if wood under roof shingles needed to be replace while he was doing the job, it would be a cost of $45 to purchase and replace the bad wood. He only used 3 eight foot pieces of rough pine and asked me for another $289 which I paid in cash. He did not replace the gutters properly as they were working fine before he installed the new roof. Grass is growing in one of the gutters, I found this out the hard way by climbing and broke my ankle in a fall. (He also advertises himself as a gutter man so this should have been an easy fix for him. The custom chimney cap he put in flew away and he said that was not his fault because it might have been faulty from where he purchased it. I replaced 6 screens which his crew ripped but didn't call him because I felt he would be coming by soon. I had a tire repaired from parking in the side driveway from nails left behind which is not a big cost but another aggravation. During this winter a downspout from one of the top of the gutters dislodged into the street. Caused erosion to our yard and into part of the cellar. The latest is he received a call from our newest contractor who informed him of the chimney cap, hip roof leaks, gutters damaging yard and walk in cellar under house. He never left material for the new contractor to repair roof or gutters or ceilings inside house. He is breaking his word to us. We believed in him, we gave drink and food to his crew. He seems to be a family man. I can't understand why this is happening. I am senior who has been retired for 16 years and could not afford to fix the windows Couture said were the problem. I could have saved thousands of dollars had it not been for HIS reason for leaks. I also spent other money replacing ceilings and roofing materials that he promised to do and even went as far as saying to our contractor that he would supply materials. HE DID NOT!
Description of Work: Rip off 3 layers of roof. Remove and replace 3 sides of gutters on house. Place rubber under 2 feet of siding on second floor and rolled down to under new roof of wrap around first floor attached to the house. First floor of house is six feet longer around the whole house. Attach cover to chimney. He also called us to offer us remuneration for all the damage and we agreed. He has not sent money or responded to many calls or confirmable mail to his PO box or his home.

Response from Couture's Roofing & Repairs
(Member name removed) entered into an agreement for a roof strip in they amount of $4400. There roof had 4 Layers of shingles, 4 layers of siding, old gutters and fascia boards that were 10" on top of the roof hiding 3 of the layers of shingles. Just to dispose of that materials is close to $1000 dollar. I also purchased a chimney cap $165 out my pocket and Gutter bracket. After completing there house (member name removed) said water was still entering. So after examining the area that was getting wet i removed a section of roofing near a window to see the watering coming in behind the siding and J- channel on the window. Replacing the shingle an expense i paid for and cocking the window. Feeling like the problems were over. (member name removed) made a call to the business phone speaking to Carrianne Sellon. (member name removed) told miss Sellon that Derek had fixed the problem on one side but there having the same problem on another side of the house. After 3 different visit to the (member name removed) house with extra expense that were paid by me i feel that i did the roof that was agreed on and more and i should not have to pay for anymore expense that goes with buying a house. I replaced the roof and more and did what i could to help them out, but there problem is not with the roof and i dont have anymore money to just replaced thing on someone else's house. I have come to a conclusion that once i said i would try and help they just asked for more and i cant give anymore.
