Sloppy install resulted in damage to driveway and patio. Made no effort to repair. Hardware and part of the fence was not as quoted and had to be redone. Fence is fine but would not use again or recommend them.

Fence looks nice and is solid but owner requirement to minimize the angle at the peak where two sections of the fence meet was missed and could have been avoided. Owner provided detailed, scale drawing but Colonial installer had only a rough diagram that a second grader could have drawn. As a result, the post where installation started was set too low resulting in a steeper pitch to this section of the fence and a portion of it needing to be buried in the ground at the other end. For more complex installations, be sure to put your requirements in writing and include your drawings in the contract to avoid the same mistake.

Excellent results for this job. Had one issue towards the end where a post was ending at the wrong point, but it was quickly resolved without any fuss. Very high quality fence, sturdy, exactly to spec.

I got 4 bids on this big project. Colonial was not the least expensive, but they were both professional and friendly. The workmen were as careful as the person who came out to give the estimate. They were quiet, methodical, and placed the arbor where I wanted it while preserving the symmetry of the fencing. The work area was completely clean when they left. I was very happy with this business.

We had a 20 yr old 4 ' high cedar fence that we needed replace w/ a fence 2' higher. We were dead set on getting another cedar fence. After going over the price and availability of cedar vs. vinyl, we decided to go w/ the vinyl. Colonial's vinyl fencing is not shiny and plastic looking like other companies and we were able to get a design that we love! From the day I went into the showroom, everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful. They came out quickly to do an estimate & answered all questions. The scheduling was a little up in the air due to all the rain we had been getting this spring. However, they were very good at keeping me updated with this. It took 2 days to remove & install the new fence. At the end of day 1, the crew made sure the yard was securely enclosed so that we could let our 3 dogs runs free in the yard. The crew itself was very polite & hard working. They cleaned up great! They did a great job! The fence looks great! Very glad we went with Colonial!

2 crews (6 men)were sent the first week. Three of the guys were standing around a good amount of time and on cell phones or watching the other guys work. The job would have been done sooner if they had been digging holes instead of standing around. After the job was complete the office tried to charge me for 5 pins instead of 4, an additional $75. If I didn’t pay attention to what was going on and confirm with the crew before they left I would have paid the additional amount. I have my doubts as to whether this was a mistake or not. My other concern was when the sales rep came over to take more accurate measurements the price went up. When I called as to why, I received two different answers from two reps. The quality of the fence is better than most but their honesty with customers is in question. I checked I would hire again because of the product quality.

First off we are a company of integrity, honesty and customer service so for the notion that we tried to take advantage of you and charge you for an extra pin that is not true at all, that was just an honest clerical error from the office manager when talking with the crew on the phone and reading over the paperwork, they thought it was 5 but when checking with the foreman he indeed confirmed 4, no one was trying to make an extra $75 off of you, never have, never will. As far as pricing on the job, you came to the showroom and gave us a materials list and we gave you the courtesy of a showroom "budget" quote which most companies don't even do and when Josh came out you had 2 more solid panels and 2 more picket panels, there wasn't 2 different responses, it was just the fact you had 4 more sections than you provided us in the showroom and that obviously caused the price increase, it was a simple answer. As far as the job taking longer than you expected that is the exact reason why we charge a contract price on a job vs. hourly rates because we are more concerned with the ultimate quality of the job not speed and we had to contend with rainy days and drilling pins / lousy digging which also slowed your job down, unfortunately in todays day and age every business that has employees on a customers job site has to deal with the cell phones / not working / etc and we do the best we can to manage that and keep things rolling but ultimately we worry less about the time on the job vs. making sure the final outcome is perfect and customer is happy with the project. Also to address punctuality, professionalism and responsiveness so other customers can see what we do compared to other companies and contractors out there, you came to the showroom on 8/20 and went over everything with Alan, we priced the showroom quote the next day on 8/21 and gave you your prices, at that time you said everything looked great with the price and Alan immediately helped you setup an appointment for Josh to see you on 8/31 as we were in one of our busiest times of the year. After Josh came out on 8/31, we got back to you one business day later because of the long holiday weekend and sent you a formal contract / proposal over email and explained why the price went up, you agreed with the contract on 9/6 and you immediately went into our computer scheduling system for installation. From there the sales office sent you a scheduling email with a 2 week range for your installation so that you were fully informed of the process from start to finish and you landed right on your first week, right on time as we scheduled it even with all of the rain we had been experiencing. So from a business standpoint we were right on top of your job from day one, we gave you the customer service and professionalism that we put into every job and made sure you knew what was going on the entire process, called the night before we came to the job as promised and did everything we promised with the ultra high quality materials we sell at a reasonable price compared to others out in the market place. If our price for the high end materials we sell wasn't reasonable and a great value for what you got then you would not have done business with us. We do greatly appreciate the business and if there is anything we can help you with in the future we are here. Thanks"

Colonial Fence are pros and they take pride in their work. They have a no nonsense, straight forward approach based on decades of experience. They came to the house to do the initial measure and immediately provided some recommendations about types of fencing and layout that would meet our needs. It was pretty clear from the get go that these guys knew their stuff. After receiving the quote my wife and I spent time on their website to view the different fencing options and then visited their beautiful showroom in Norfolk where it is evident in spades that they take pride in their work. It was really helpful to see the panels and various design options in person. Once you decide to move forward it may take a few weeks to get on their schedule -- in our case we didn't commit until mid-August and install occurred early October. The installation crew was professional and the total installation took about 4 days as they dug each of the post holes by hand! We ended up with a beautiful fence that actually exceeds our expectations. Thank you Colonial!

From beginning to end, Colonial Fence was one of the best contractors we've had work at our house! From the experiences in the showroom, to the quoting process, through the entire installation, they were polite, punctual and professional. We were especially impressed with their installers, they worked fast and steady on our fence, never left a mess, and did great work. Would definitely rehire if we needed them in the future.

It went very well. The fence looks really good, even though the terrain has some little hills, the materials used for the fence itself look good. Of course, you have to take your plants away from the fence they are going to take apart, we forgot to do that and they got broken. But the service was very good, always in a respectful manner, and they were done in time. And the price was the best in the area Thanks!

I am extremely pleased with their professionalism and the quality of their work. When the rep came to give an estimate, he spent a lot of time with me to find out what I was looking for, the differences in their fence quality vs. the one I had, and what changes I could make without sacrificing quality. He had plenty of pictures to help me decide. They estimate came promptly and they installed it when they told me they would. They stayed 2 days until it was finished and always cleaned up at the end of the day. The installers were also very professional. The fence looks great and I would definitely use them again.

Tough negotiation. Slightly prickly personalities but finally, a great price with the promise of an outstanding product. Some confusion about permits (on my side as well) and some misunderstandings about the details of the paint job, but in the scheme of things this was very minor. The end product is as close to perfect as I could ask for and their installation crew deserves the highest possible marks for professionalism, thoroughness, etc. No other fence installation company in Boson could do such a high-quality job. It is the best fence around, and I am confident that it will prove to be very durable. In the final analysis, that is what matters.

Reached out to several companies and it quickly became apparent that Colonial was far and away the most professional and offered a great showroom to display all the various options. My salesman, Josh was courteous and prompt to come to my property, access my needs and recommend options for me to consider. After visiting the showroom and meeting Ken and Ken Jr. there was no doubt I had selected the right company. The installation was great. Jeff and his crew worked diligently. We had one small issue after the install and the team was there the very next day to assure my satisfaction. I would certainly recommend Colonial Fence and would use them again for any future needs.

Josh came out from Colonial Fence and listened to our needs, and made several suggestions. In the process answered our questions about vinyl thickness and quality and reinforcing at gates, posts and bottom rails. We paid more for Colonial Fence, but the quality and their customer service record with past customers, made our choise easy. We are very happy with our new fence and Colonial Fence. We do recommend them Highly to all.
